Out of stock Oooops.
This bottle isn't on our current list of Home Bar Essentials... but it could be. Add it to your wish list and let us know you want it!
Wow! We are so proud we can introduce this Rum. It is a very special ‘zero CO2 emission Fairtransport’ Rum.
The story goes like this. Every year a bunch of crazy Europeans sail the Tres Hombres Rum-runner (check its meaning in July 2012's tasting pack description) to the Caribbean, they load a new stock of tongue selected premium Rum and bring it to Europe, to the port of Amsterdam. Tres Hombres is the first and only authentic Rum-runner to exist in this millennium. Watch this video!
The taste of Tres Hombres Rum, which differs every year is as exquisite and exciting as the production and shipping process.
This 2012 edition matures for 12 years in American oak barrels, using the Solera method (provided by Oliver & Oliver) letting the specific Caribbean climate contribute to its smoothness.
These limited edition bottles (only 4.000 bottles) are hand labeled and loaded into the ship’s belly by hand. Tres Hombres Rum is a collector’s item and recognizable as such.

About The Flavour Spiral

What does Tres Hombres 2012 Rum taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Tres Hombres 2012 Rum and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Rum is why we measure alcohol proof. To make sure Rum wasn’t watered down, it had to be ‘proven’ by soaking gunpowder with it. If it was ‘overproof’ (higher than 57.15 % vol.), then the gunpowder would ignite, if it wouldn’t, it was ‘underproof’.

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Colour
Dark golden brown, with reddish tones.
Smell / Nose / Aroma
The aroma is fruity, slightly woody and light.
Flavour / Taste / Palate
Cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla, some honey, citrus and spices.
The finish is wonderfully soft, sweet and round.
Excellent dram, even better than 2011 release. Not cheap, but the whole package (story, fairtransport and the flavour) justifies the price.
