Good news: You've got impeccable taste in liquor. The not-as-good news? It means it's currently out of stock. Add this bad boy to your wish list and we'll let you know if it comes our way.
Art on the inside as well as the outside, Tobermory 15YO is a beautifully presented single malt from the western islands that sips like a refined highlander.

Tobermory distillery is situated on the Scottish island of Mull, in the village of Tobermory. The distillery, formerly known as Ledaig, is the only distillery on the island. It was founded in 1798 by John Sinclair and has changed hands several times, having undergone a number of periods of closure.

These days the brand name Tobermory is used for all their  unpeated malt Whisky, while the (lightly) peated Whisky is sold as Ledaig.
Unlike more single-malts coming from the western islands of Scotland, Tobermory is not peated like most drams flowing from the islands. In fact, this lovely little dram sips more like a refined highlander than it’s pedigree might suggest. Aged in ex-bourbon casks for a full fourteen years, it then spends it’s last year in those amazing Gonzalex Byass Oloroso Sherry butts that lend such richness to whisky.
Tobermory is a smaller producer that still does everything by hand, and you can taste that in every sip. A good chunk of their production goes into some of the highest-end blends in Scotland, but they stab off a good bit of best stuff it for their namesake 10YO whisky, and an even rarer amount is set aside for this limited edition 15YO bit or artistry. Everything about it screams “special,” from the hand-blown bottles to the wooden presentation box emblazoned with custom artwork form local painter Sonas Maclean.

SmartAss Corner:
A Spanish galleon shipwreck can be found at the bottom of Tobermory harbour, over which the distillery looks. It was named ‘The Florida’ and was sunk during the Spanish Armada in 1588. Legend has it that it was stacked with treasure but none has ever been found … or at least declared!
