In the 17th century, there was a beautiful young Spanish aristocrat who fled the horrors of colonial war to the island of Jamaica. Her maid joined her and she took a precious family treasure with her. It was a small jewelry box with black pearl earrings but more importantly, an ancient manuscript that contained the recipe for a mysterious liqueur. It was in the 1940s when Dr. Kenneth Leigh Evans discovered it and began producing the Spirit. The recipe was named after the courageous woman and Tia Maria was born. This is a true classic, one of the first coffee Liqueurs that and it was even used in the very first Espresso Martini recipe over forty years ago.
Tia Maria is a sweet coffee Liqueur that offers a bold coffee character and a complex aromatic structure. It’s made with cold brew extraction from 100% arabica coffee, vanilla, and Jamaican Rum that brings the body, depth, and structure Tia Maria is adored for all over the world.
