An approachable and gentle Bushmills, dippe din Sherry.

Bushmills is one of the most popular and enduring Irish Whiskeys. Hugh Anderson registered the company in 1784 in the town of Bushmills and, after a few fits and starts, they have been in continuous operation and growing since 1885. Jose Cuervo purchased the Old Bushmills Distillery from Diageo in 2014, but the suits know to stay out of the way of Irishman crafting their Whiskey. Bushmills currently has six Whiskeys in their core line-up in addition to special editions and releases.

Part of their Distillery Reserve, The Bushmills 12 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey is aged almost entirely in ex-Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks. This approachable and gentle dram greets you with dried fruit aromas that develop into bold and rich flavors of malt, Sherry, and dark chocolate on the spicy and complex palate. Oh, and just wait for that smooth finish.

Sweet in the mouth with a harsh finish

If you only keep this in your mouth, then it will be sweet and good. However, it's pretty harsh going down, which is the sole reason why I gave it a three.

Lovely

We found this lovely. Has a taste of sherry in it. It's malty, rich, and very smooth. We're big fans.

Any Palate will Enjoy

Sweeter, fruity notes, primarily of apple & pear. Not too sweet however, & it has some depth too it. Carries some notes of sherry & chocolate. Just a touch of spice & very enjoyable for any palate regardless of your whisky preference
