Teeling Stout Cask Finish Small Batch delivers more flavor through sharing.

In 2015, Jack and Stephen Teeling founded the Teeling Distillery in The Liberties section of Dublin. Their father John built the Cooley Distillery in County Louth thirty years earlier, and their great-great grandfather Walter Teeling had built a distillery two hundred years before that. So to say that Irish Whiskey is in the blood is to understate things a bit. And all that family experience has not gone to waste — their Whiskies are all highly rated and even after only a few years of operation they export their line of seven Irish spirits to 55 countries.

The heart of the Teeling line is their Small Batch Irish Whiskey. A few years ago the Galway Bay Brewery cut a deal to “borrow” the aging casks from the Small Batch, which they used to mature their 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout. Last year the first run of those borrowed casts were returned and Teeling has used them to finish a production run of that core Whiskey, creating a new product. So, to be clear — the casks are Whiskey-Stout-Whiskey. The combo brings a grassy and herbal note to the spirit.
