Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey Reviews and Tasting Notes
Appearance / Color
Rich gold
Smell / Nose
A slight smell of corn, with a mix of fruity and spicy aromas tingling around the presence of vanilla and dark chocolate.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
Dry and spicy in the first stage, when later all sorts of different aromas come to mind from cranberries and plums from the use of red wine cask to the more rounder softer notes of honey and butterscotch.
Finish
The fusion of all the above stated aromas finish in a long dry grain based, malty conclusion that surprises but goes away with satisfaction.

Member Reviews and Ratings of Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey
Christopher,
For me this is one of the best whiskeys that I have had in a long time, you can really taste the sweetness in the honey and vanilla. True to Irish whiskey it is really smooth.
Joe,
Vanilla cream, raisin and fresh apricot. Buttery and sweet. Mouth coating.
Tyler,
N: grain forward, oatmeal, orange, ginger, powdered sugar.
P: Sweet, bready, tart fruit, slight bitterness, honey, rose hips, syrupy.
F: easy finish, low burn for the proof. It's an improvement ovrr the small batch, but I think Knappogue and Red Breast are better options at this price point.
James,
Vanilla pound cake nose, Same on flavor but add in some pipe tobacco and maple. Finishes peppery.
Tyler,
Notes of honey and grain and sweetness. No burn or lingering taste. Nice and smooth as a neat Irish Whiskey
guest,
Very nice
Amanda,
Perfect.
Roy,
Drank the whole bottle trying to pin point the tasting notes. Not in a oner mind! So in summary, this is a great Irish Whiskey! I think if anything the dry spicy introduction has kept me interested.
David,
Very nice sipper. A little dry and spicy with lot of dark fruit flavors. Malty and creamy mouth-coating with a wonderful long finish. 8.5 rating. Really impressed with the Teeling line.
Ronald,
This is not my favorite. I wouldn't purchase it again
Nathan,
Color: light
Nose: sweet fruit
Palate: butterscotch sweet and berry fruit
Finish: Red wine and sweetness
No alcohol burn.
Would buy again.
Riccardo,
a bit too much peppery
Jesse,
A bit to harsh/spicy. I like the small batch feelings much better
Laurence,
Overwhelmingly peppery .
Paula,
My favorite Irish whiskey.
ROBERTO,
Smooth but a bit dull. Was hoping for just a touch more spice/intrigue in the beginning. It settles into a nice smooth place. I can see how folks likes this one as a sipper.

bottled 06/2018 Opened and Tasted 08/2020
this is probably the best whiskey I've had for mixing into a whiskey sour to date. I tried it neat and on the rocks but it really wakes up in a sour. very smooth
Alex,
Newer to whiskey and love this Irish. Super smooth sipper on the rocks
Michael,
Easy drinking. I like it neat or on the rocks.
Max,
By far my favorite thing on my shelf right now, a distinct flavor without being over powering.
Russell,
The additional flavors that came through made Teeling one of the best whiskey thus far. Breckenridge provided a similar experience. Would recommend to individuals that love flavor nuances.
Matt,
Really liked it a ton. Good flavor and good sipping
Sam,
Combination vanilla caramel oak. What a wonderful Irish whiskey. I don't think I've ever had another in the category that compares.
John,
It had a certain sweetness that I enjoyed.
Stephanie,
Not for me
Brian,
Tasty. Enjoy neat, with whiskey rocks, with ginger ale, old fashioned, irish coffee.
Chris,
A Genuinely smooth sipping whiskey, too good to mix with anything. It has a full flavor profile that may be a bit more on the sweet side.
Chuck,
Nectar of the Irish Gods. If my father was still with us, he would confiscate it.
Michael,
Up till now, this is the closest that I get to a Redbreast 12. The very nice difference is the wine influence and the bigger punch in the face by the spiciness. There is less oak influence than with the Redbreast 12 but it's there. A very nice dram. I think I'll buy this one again.
Susan,
I haven't received it. The order was placed on May 2nd. What is wrong here?
Evin,
Email Flaviar directly at SUPPORT@FLAVIAR.COM - I had the same thing happen to me and they were very responsive (within 24 hours) to get it sorted out. After I contacted them, I received my bottle within a week.
Micah,
Well rounded Irish whiskey, warm, smooth, and mellow. Great sipping whiskey (with a splash of water of course).
Jason,
A very smooth whiskey, no bite at all. Very nice to sip although I prefer something with a little more flavor.
Dave,
Smooth flavor. Better with a splash of water.
Jason,
Very tasty! More of a balanced profile, not close to the spice of a rye
Michael,
It's really very tasteless - in a blind taste test, I would have guessed it was vodka. Very disappointing.
NATHANIEL,
A decent Irish whiskey
Evin,
Smooth front and warm finish. Quite enjoyable while sitting on the back porch.
Bradley,
I loved the taste. Very smooth, no bite
Jim,
This was one of the smoothest front end Irish Whiskeys I have tasted. Smooth on the front end with a creamy finish. I also loved that delayed warming sensation that a good whiskey causes. Highly recommended.
Chuck,
Really like it
Ralph,
A bit more bite than expected. I didn’t get much fruit out of each sip either. Overall, a good blend though.
Patrick,
This is a super smooth whiskey with a great flavor. Will purchase again!
Thomas,
Its a nice smooth whiskey. I enjoyed the nice blend of vanilla, butterscotch, and cranberry that hits the tastebuds just right.
Christopher,
Very Smooth, with nice favors
Andrew,
Its was great, wasnt as earthy as I thought it would be. But all in all me and some friends enjoyed it after dinner.
David,
Great flavor all the way to the end. Smooth and hints of amazingness.
Chris,
Smooth and natural taste. If your looking for something with less of a bite but good flavor this is it.
Eric,
Very smooth and quite delicious.
Justin,
Really nice sipper with good aroma. Reasonably priced, would purchase again
Ken,
Very good Irish Whiskey. Vanilla notes on the nose, smooth and spicy mouth feel with a fruity finish.
Jeffrey,
This one has a nice aroma. Even though it's an Irish whiskey, It tastes like scotch to me. Pretty good flavor, but still has that bit in the back of my throat. Mixed with ginger ale it's pretty good.
Ashley,
I really enjoyed this bottle! Smooth butterscotch notes that got better with each sip. Would definitely purchase again!
Robert,
I was frankly a little disappointed when i first opened the bottle. I found it harsh and unrefined. I had to have it over ice, perish the thought....The second time I tried it was better, but still it lacks complexity and refinement.
Paul,
Smooth, really nice sipping whisky with iceball
Jerry,
thought I would give it a try for an Irish it is better than some just not my taste
Beau,
Clean, light, crisp, and smooth. This exceeded my expectations for a grain whiskey. Looking forward to working my way through this bottle.
Matthew,
Incredible sipper. Very well blended notes, nice balance of bite and butterscotch. Tried it as part of Teeling sampler pack at a store and immediately chose it for this quarter's package.
Steve,
I'm a believer. A lot going on with this sipper. Taste buds explode. The bite is awesome at the beginning and tapers off gradually until the end while the other flavors compliment it. What a ride!
Jason,
Surprisingly good!
Odessa,
I am pleasantly surprised by Teeling. The aroma is just lovely, the slight bite up front to the smooth slightly creamy finish so, so nice.
Cory,
slight bite up front but is finishes smooth, loved the flavor.
Rick,
Very smooth; can pick up on the butterscotch. Fairly light, but a decent sipper.
Ray,
Very light and smooth start with a complex finish. I especially liked the fruit notes in the finish.
Robert,
Not sure where the idea comes from that it is a sweet, smooth sipper. My bottle was quite oakey and harshly spicy on the palate. I added an eyedropper of water to tame it, then it was OK. The wine cask maturation did not come through at all. Perhaps I got a bad bottle.
Cameron,
The flavors are good but underwhelming. I wish they were a bit more pronounced.
Christopher,
Great Irish whiskey - had this at their distillery in Dublin, and it’s been a mainstay in my home bar ever since
Peter,
smooth great taste
Jacob,
I agree
Peter,
great taste
Kiss,
Very pleasant on the nose with honey and sweet butterscotch, but too spicy, harsh ethanol at first on the palate, it turns into nice round sweet aftertaste
Glenn,
Teeling is one of my favorites. I love all whiskeys but prefer Irish. This is one of my top Irish goto's.
Haley,
My favorite whiskey! Really enjoyed some other whiskeys when I toured their facility in Dublin.
Jason,
It’s ok
Devon,
very smooth Irish whiskey with nice vanilla flavor.
Ludovic,
Really good with tons of flavors. Too bad it's not available anymore :(
Rebecca,
Really alcoholic on the nose and a bite in the finish, but nice dry spice and vanilla flavor with a good body
Michael,
Great sweet grain whiskey
Bradley,
Tons of flavor. Mostly a variety of rich ripe fruits.
Tim,
Thin and lacking much character. Personally my least favorite of the Teelings I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Cheers
Pretty smooth & decent complexity for how thin it is.
Ross,
I've only had a handful of Irish whiskies, but this one is my favorite thus far....I found it very light and sweet, ...almost floral/grassy on the nose. Light and sweet on the palate...warming. Finishes sweet and floral, but short. Not near as "heavy" as Redbreast and the like.
Scott,
Tasted strongly of diesel or petroleum products. Pretty hard to get past that to enjoy anything else.
Robert,
This is a nice Irish. Buttery and smooth with just a bit of back bite on the finish, it's good with a dram of water added to it.
Rick,
I've enjoyed a range of whiskeys lately, looking for those 'special' tastes that become a favorite. This is right at the very top. Glad to have 'discovered' it through the club.
Anthony,
Smooth. Clean. Tastes of butter, vanilla, spice. Great sipping whiskey.
Jim,
Like
Mike,
Smooth!
Matt,
Very smooth with a hint of honey. Would definitely buy a bottle.
Mike,
Gifted. Love it
Brigitte,
Ok, I'm biased. I love Teeling. Fresh, new and yet old. Smooth taste . Excellent!
