The Karloff Distillery was founded in 2002 in the town of Kezmarok, Slovakia, on the Poprad River. Jan Semanak has led the company since day one. They have grown by developing new brands for sale to the burgeoning European market. But now they are brining their Spirits to the global marketplace. Their brands include Czechoslovakia Vodka, Tatra Coffee Liqueur, Saffroni Aperitif, Zipser flavored fruit Brandies, and the Tatratea line of tea-infused Liqueurs.

There are seven varieties of Tatratea Liqueur. Tatratea Original Tea Liqueur is the successful dram that started them all. It is infused with black Assam tea and natural extracts from mountain herbs, including gentian, St John's wort, cinnamon, raspberry, clove, lemon balm, and more. Because it’s based on a traditional Moonshine recipe, it’s bottled at a stout 52% ABV.

Smartass Corner:
Tatra gets it name from a local mountain range in Slovakia — the Tatra Mountains. Part of the greater Carpathian range, these rugged peaks form a natural boarder with Poland.

Appearance / Color
Bronze Amber

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is full of fruit and herbal notes with an earl Grey Tea foundation.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
For such a strong ABV the palate is remarkably smooth with sweet tea tannins, apple and raspberry fruits, wildflower honey, and a peppery bite.

Finish
The finish is long and lightly drying.
