Talisker reinvented.

Talisker distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskil at Carbost, on the Isle of Skye. In all these years Talisker's distillation method has remained virtually unchanged, refusing to go with the flow of the industry, well...asides from the necessary health and safety improvements. As the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker's drams are quite idiosyncratic, defining an Island Malt style that is very much their own.

Talisker 57 North is a no age statement, cask strength bottling that bears the name of the 57th north line of latitude where the Isle of Skye lies. Matured exclusively in American oak refill casks at the shores of Loch Harport, this dram is pretty rich in smoke and peat, packs a powerful punch at 57% alcohol and is one of the most interesting expressions of Talisker distillery. This is Talisker’s trademark taste brought surprisingly to a whole new level of intensity and character

Peter
Peter,
It's really not my style, a bit too peaty for me. I do like the peppery finish tho.. OK. The more I drink it the more I like this. Maybe I'm a convert!

anonymous,
Smoky and salt aroma. Smoke and peat flavor with pepper and touch of vanilla. Bit sweet.
David
David,
Not my favorite scotch profile...too peaty. With that said, if smokey/peaty scotch suits your palate, then you won't be disappointed. After the initial shock of smoke and pepper dissipate, a floral bouquet lingers on the palate. I didn't pair this with food/cheese, but I can see it working with the right compliment.
Ben
Ben,
My least favourite from the pack. Very dry and so not as enjoyable as the rest. Gave me that shiver on first tasting it.
