Dominican Rum meets Scottish Highlands.

The name “Summum” comes from an old Latin Expression which means “the highest good.” If Rum is your thing, then you might agree with that. Summum Rums are the creation of Rum master Juan Alberto Alvarez and their entire line of Rums are aged at least 12 years using the Solera method.

Summum 12 YO Ron Dominicano Ben Nevis Malt Cask Finish is a mouthful, and so is the Rum. Not only is it a 12 YO Rum aged Solera-style, but it is finished in casks that used to hold Ben Nevis Single Malt Whisky from the Western Highlands. So... what does all that mean? It means that you get a rich, thick cane-based Rum with all the sweetness and tropical spice of a premium Rum, but a with a lingering toffee malty, peat flavor simmering in the back of the palate. A different kind of Rum.

Smartass Corner
“Summum Bonum” translates from ancient Latin at “the highest good.” The phrase was introduced by the Roman orator, lawyer, and philosopher Cicero in the first century AD. His influence on language and literature for the last two thousand years has been immense — some say the equal to Shakespeare.
