Maryjo,
Smooth with enough spice to be good. Would buy if could afford.
Lawrence,
Blah spice
Allen,
Reminds me of a slightly younger, less complex Balvenie Single Barrel First Fill. Light colour, feels like it's bourbon-finished, sweet and sharp.
mark,
Sharply sweet up front with a nice, lingering after taste.
This being an attempt to recreate a defunct distillery bottling... if it was like this it should still be around.
Westberg,
one of my favorites from the Advent Calendar
Neil,
meh not great kinda boring.
David,
Sweet with a dry aftertaste
Colin,
Smooth with subtle flavors. Well balanced.
Kevin,
Solid scotch, nothing that I would pass up, nothing that I would go out of my way for
Nathan,
Advent #17. Not usually a fan of single malt scotch but I liked this. Honey on nose and tongue followed by some spice and then ending with a butter.
Stephen,
Not too sweet, and relatively mild. I’m not normally a fan of single malts, but this was ok.
Frank,
(Advent 2020, #17) In the nose it's honey with a little bit of malt. Tasting it I get honey, a little bit of spice, and some sweet note of maybe toffee with a decent finish. Nice.
Tracy,
Sweet with mainly honey and grain notes, smooth, and just a little spicy.
Jason,
Sweet, smooth, easy drinking. Nothing objectionable but also nothing super exciting.
Derek,
Honey and malt on the nose. Spicy caramel taste with the slightest hint of shortbread. Not too notable a finish. Overall light and easy to drink.
Pleasant enough, and I wanted to like it more than I did, but in the end it just felt rather average and fairly forgettable.
Paul,
A sweeter scotch with some nice spice and bite.
Matthew,
Very strong honey flavor. A little grain and flower on the nose. Hint of butter on the back end, reminiscent of Uncle Nearest 1884. The malt is classic, the spice is subtle, and there's a hint of cookie/biscuit. Very light, easy to drink, clean finish.
Vincent,
Advent Day 17 - Strong honey notes on the nose. Palate had notes of toffee and spices with hints of grains. Nice smooth finish.
Louise,
This is for a social occasion before dinner. Surprisingly sweet.
Mike,
Easy and approachable with sweetenss on the front and spice on the back.
Dustin,
Lots of honey and agree with the adding water to bring out spice. Malty and biscuity as well
Nikhil,
Very nice, approachable scotch. Smooth. Sweeter than expected. Looking forward to another dram.
Todd,
Very light maybe thin. Definitely heavy on the honey. Water brought out more of the spicy notes.
Brady,
Wonderful taste. Many layers of flavor going on. Smooth front, scotch middle, and nice bite in the end. I’d get this again.
Thomas,
Wow, honey. Very smooth. I enjoyed this more than expected.
Bob,
Flaviar Advent sampler day 17. This is a nice Scotch. Somewhat sweet to my palate with a bit of a bite. I'd add this to my home bar.
James,
Very enjoyable and a distillery I hadn't tried before.
Nose is faintly peaty with a tinge of grapefruit and sweetness
Sweet honey is the first hit on my palate, giving way to spice and malt. Mouthfeel is creamy and pleasant.
The finish isn't particularly distinct and I get a bit of burn there, but overall still very smooth
Adding a few drops of water brings out a bit of vanilla and slightly less burn.
At advertised $50-60 USD this is a fantastic whiskey and one I would drink as a "session" or bring to a party for sure
Matthew,
I'm getting malt and honey on the nose, light caramel, citrus, and a bit of raisin on the tongue. Initially I guessed this had some aging in port casks, but apparently not. It doesn't drink hot, but there is enough spice in the finish that stays with you for a while.
Another one I wouldn't classify as exceptional, but would be perfectly happy spending an evening with.
James,
Nice nose; indistinct flavors
Adam,
Nice & smooth, with a creamy mouthfeel and buttery flavor. This could be an easy daily drinker.
Ryan,
I can't really taste too much as far as subtle flavors. It has a great nose and the spice is right where I like it, but I'm not really picking much out of it.
Kris,
Everything I like about a highlands whisky. Wouldn't mind a little less burn on the back end. A few drops of water brings out even more flavor.
Michele,
Nice honey on the nose and then a little spice to balance the sweet on the palate.
Andrew,
Great balance between sweet and spicy
Daniel,
Advent 2020 #17 - spicey that is subdued by hints of sweetness and smoothness. One of few scotches we like!
Paul,
we Likey
Scott,
I’m new to scotch but I like this one. Honey on the nose and some lingering sweetness. I could do this one again.
Benjamin,
👏
Timothy,
.
Joe,
As a new Scotch drinker, this was especially easy to drink. Very smooth and sweet scotch. No peaty notes to be had to this one so it may not appeal to the more experienced enthusiast.
Nina,
First burns, but has a smooth aftertaste.
Bob,
Smooth. A little too sweet through the whole taste. Like a little more bite.
Caleb,
A very smooth scotch. The oak is very subtle. Perfect for someone just getting into enjoying scotch.
John,
Not a fan
Austin,
Wonderful smell to the nose, very sweet with a kick of spice at the end
Austin,
Very nice aroma and an equally good taste. Will be buying a bottle to add to my home bar. Wonderful flavor with a start of sweet and it develops into a Smokey and slightly spicy finish.
Clint,
Solid performer, smooth and sweet but not bold enough for me.
William,
It's good, not great. Sweet, but not overly sweet. It's not really Stronachie, but does that really mean much? The recreation seems solid given the profile. There's not a lot of depth to it, but the notes are fine if you like something sweet and not spicy.
Casey,
Smooth, sweet, honey, slight spice.
Josh,
Very tasty Scotch, but then again, I love Scotch!
Conner,
Very weak, not my kind of drink
Troy,
Prevalent Honey, but wouldn’t consider it sweet. More spice than expected. Enjoyed the buttery finish. Not a favorite, but wouldn’t turn it down.
Jake,
Light body, largely one-note
Marshall,
Super surprised the first sip, thought this is bad, mellowed out but the finished stayed. The second try, a lot smoother, figured taste buds were just scorched. I had to wait a while before trying the next sample.
Chuck,
Light and buttery
Danielle,
Underwhelming. There was no scent at all and not much of a taste either. I think I tasted some honey notes but that's literally it. Kind of boring.
Roland,
Honey, toffee, some pice, buttery warm finish and mouthfeel.
Jacqueline,
Straight middle of the road scotch. It won’t offend anyone but it won’t blow your socks off either.
Scott,
I enjoyed this one very much. Smooth and tasty
Alex,
Very interesting and great finish without the bite of so many on the after taste.
Bretton,
Smooth
Daniel,
An interesting taste, I'm not much of a scotch drinker so when I saw this bottle I was excited, no mention of smokiness in the flavor spiral or taste description. Well, it is a scotch and it is smokey. Not a deal-breaker, I will drink it. I would love to try a version with the smoke dialed down. It's not bad, just not for me. About all I can detect for flavors is sweetness (almost coconut-like) up front then smoke and a tannin finish. On the nose, it seems like a smokey high-test pinot grigio wine.
James,
Very drinkable. Tasing notes of honey very evident. Tasty
Wesley,
I smelled the honey immediately. It provided a great taste. I could feel the butter finish. This was much spicier than I thought it would be, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.
Danny,
Personally not my favorite. It does have a strong organic honey nose but the sweetness of the honey does not manifest in the taste for me. But I can definitely see why many people may enjoy it. It definitely has more complex notes than I have experienced in moste spirits. Even though I did not enjoy this whiskey I was actually encouraged to continue drinking due the subtle changes in experience every sip presented.
Sarah,
Love the honey and spicy taste
Jim,
I wasn’t overly impressed. Decent scotch - spice and alcohol were prevalent initially. 86 proof that burns like 110 proof. On the back end it sweetened up a little with a lingering but mild sweetness.
Jeremiah,
Like the honey and the butter finish, but I am not a fan of the spiciness.
Steve,
Easy to drink, buttery finish
Mathew,
Smells like apples and honey. Peppery spice mixes with malty sweetness down low. Finishes buttery with more spice. Not the best I’ve ever had but drinkable.
Joe,
A little sweet and a bit spicy. Flavor is very mild.
Chris,
Not generally my type of scotch. Has a pleasant nose with a sweet buttery taste and a spicy finish. A very enjoyable glass!
Cameron,
This is too sweet in my opinion. A little unrefined maybe? It tastes like the alcohol is more than 43%. Still, wouldn't turn it down.
Jonathan,
Nice sweet flavor easy to drink.
Matt,
Very harsh. I’ll admit, I’m not a scotch lover. I’m trying to appreciate it, but this one is just too strong. Sorry. I like the history of this drink though.
John,
Great notes of honey, toffee, and biscuit. For me, however, it’s got more of a bite than I normally prefer.
Ben,
Very pleasant. Not my favorite in the world, but no big complaints. Honey and toffee come to the front in the nose for me, with a surprisingly spicy sweet and smooth palate. The finish comes and goes fairly quick with a pleasant sweet/buttery end.
Huagang,
Very pleasant. Never thought about having Scotch as dessert before.
Lee,
Heavy honey notes, great smell.
Michael,
Aroma was so so. Taste sweet but good. Smooth finish.
Daniel,
Good all around scotch.
Tom,
Light, spicy, short, sweet, butter.
Steven,
Sweet but not overwhelming. Goes down smooth.
Matt,
Heavy honey taste but very enjoyable
Jason,
Nothing seems to come together cohesively.
Bernadette,
A lighter honey bite, not as smokey as I'd prefer but very gentle on the palate.
Tammy,
Smells so nice and sweet. Like sweet bread. Flavor is so smooth and warm. This is a new favorite for me.
William,
Amazing.
Chris,
Good single malt. Nice sweet flavors. Slight spice in the after taste. Would drink again.
Antti,
It is a classic, elegant, Single Malt Scotch Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a rich & spicy life leads to a long & balanced death with notes of butter, malt &, caramel.
Peter,
I liked this. Nose was almost like tequila and the finish was sweet & spicy.
Ray,
Sweet & spicy, lots of honey up front, like a less-smokey Johnny Walker Black
Emily,
Enjoyed this one a lot. Sweet and smooth.
Logan,
I liked this whisky. The nose was malt and sweet. The taste was honey, toffee and malt.
Quite nice... Honey on the front end is obvious, breaks down to grain hints and spices. The finish is thinner than I'd prefer, with a little bit of oil, but not terrible.
Briana,
Pleasing to the nose and amazing taste!
Damien,
Smooth
Mike,
So light in color I wasn’t expecting the amount of flavor it packs. Honey spice and grain with a slightly sweet finish.
Zachary,
Delicious flavor. Smooth on the nose and at the finish.
Matthew,
Color is a light straw. Nose is bright with malt, honey, and subtle vanilla. First sip has a little spice, but with a mildly sweet background mimicking the nose: malt, vanilla, and just a touch of the honey. Mouthfeel is full, mildly oily. Finish is a very short continuation of the spice. Overall, nothing offputting, but lacking in depth and finish.
Sean,
Very nice taste and light delicious finish. Recommended.
Daniel,
Not for me. I look for more smoke in my scotch. Nice favors though
Jackie,
Good, nice honey and toffee.
Daniel,
Very similar to springbank 10, not my style
Wyatt,
Very smooth, lots of good flavor. I would enjoy this neat, but maybe not as much in an Old Fashioned.
Ashley,
Peaty nose. Malt, spice, and honey on the palate. Spice and peat wrapped in sweetness after a few drops of water. Very smooth. A few more drops bring out cinnamon rolls and toffee.
Brian,
Mary loved it, Brian didn't. Smoky and spicy.
Dan,
This is an easy scotch to drink. I don’t care for peat, and this is very light on the peat.
John,
Sweet Scotch. Honey and wood on the nose. Sweet with honey immediately on the palate. Spice and heat/alcohol come shortly after and linger through the finish. Zero peat.
This Scotch is light on its feet and a bit sharper than I expected on the nose and palate. It balances the sweetness nicely. Makes for nice albeit not so complex dram. I'd recommend it for an easy going drink.
JR,
There was a lot going on with the initial sip but dissipated as fast as it came on, definitely something you could sit back as drink while having a good conversation
