Located near Livingston, Starlaw is the first green-field distillery project Scotland has seen in 40 years.

The French spirits group La Martiniquaise founded Starlaw distillery in 2007. This state of the art site was planned by the Scottish firm, Colorado Group, to be a uniquely adaptive distillation facility.

The purpose built equipment on the Starlaw site is unique in that it combines grain distillation, maturation blending and bottling on a single property. In 1969, La Martiniquaise launched Label 5 blended Whisky. In the forty years since this brand has grown in popularity such that the firm built Starlaw to service it.

Starlaw's capacity is estimated at over 25 million liters of spirit per year. An original blending, bottling and maturation site was built near Bathgate in 2004. Producing both grain and neutral spirits, Starlaw's columns were designed with agility in mind.

Each run can be exposed to a specified amount of copper, offering the distillers and blenders a range of flavor to tinker with. Four additional maturation cellars are expected.
