It's been over 20 years from the Iowa album: Yes, you're old, but at least you can treat yourself to a really good Whiskey.

In 2019, a certain American extreme metal band from Des Moines, Iowa, partnered with a certain award-winning Cedar Ridge Distillery, also from Iowa. And Slipknot No.9 Iowa Whiskey was born. Mainly from corn that’s grown at the Cellar Ridge Distillery farm in Winthrop, Iowa. Blended by percussionist Shawn Crahan, whom you probably know as “the Clown”, the Whiskey was no celeb fad but a really good blend of Straight Bourbon and Straight Rye Whiskeys.

Slipknot Iowa Anniversary Edition Whiskey is a limited-edition bottling that was crafted to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band's second album, Iowa. It’s a blend of 60% Rye Whiskeys and 40% Bourbon Whiskeys, which makes for a spicy sip. The heavy spice from all that Rye beautifully balances the rich notes of home-grown Iowa corn. The bottle bearing the iconic artwork from the Iowa album, it makes for a great collectible for true Maggots or just a darn good Whiskey for everybody else.

Bourbon rules refer to manufacturing methods rather than location. Bourbon must be matured in new and charred American white oak casks for at least 2 years. If the bottle has no age statement, the Bourbon is at least 4 years old. No coloring or flavoring of any type is allowed, and the mash bill must contain at least 51% corn.
Tennessee Whiskey closely parallels Bourbon, but final filtering through sugar-maple charcoal (called the Lincoln County Process) is what some producers say differentiates them. Tennessee Whiskey’s finish is sweeter and smoother than Bourbon.
An un-aged American Whisky is often called “white dog.”Sour Mash is the fermentation process by which a percentage of a previous fermentation is added to a new batch as a "starter" to get the fermentation going and maintain a level of consistency from batch to batch. A sweet mash means that only fresh yeast is added to a new batch to start fermentation.
Corn Whiskey is a commercial product that must contain at least 80% corn, be distilled at less than 80% ABV (160 proof), and, if wood-aged, may be aged in either used or new un-charred barrels.

George Washington was a man of many talents being both a military braniac and the First President of the United States. Interestingly, he also became the largest Whiskey producer in the United States after leaving the politics.
