Dufftown distillery was started in 1896 by two Liverpudlian entrepreneurs when a stone built saw and a mill was converted into a distillery.

By the 1920s the distillery was doing great and had an expanding market in the US, however prohibition hit it badly and it was closed in 1933.

In 1934 Arthur Bell bought the distillery, and it has been an important contributor to Bells blend ever since. The Dufftown distillery is the only one in Scotland malting all its own barley.

What does Singleton taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Singleton scotch whisky and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.
