Shibui Whisky is an award-winning brand that collabs with numerous Japanese Whisky makers to distill, mature, and marry our expressions, honoring the tradition of Niigata and Okinawa. They specialize in insanely lush flavors, exploring the magic of wood influence with European virgin white oak, ex-Bourbon barrels, rare Mizunara oak, and different types of Sherry.

Shibui 10 Year Old White Oak Single Grain Whisky is - and we're not overhyping here - spectacular. It's made from premium Indica long grain rice, using Okinawan black koji & yeast, matured in virgin European White Oak for a decade, and bottled at a friendly 43% ABV. We promise its tropical fruit, sea-salt caramel, and whipped cream flavors will knock you off your feet. Pure Japanese opulence.

It's not uncommon for Japanese Whisky to be aged in mizunara (Japanese oak) casks. Suntory conducted a research on how mizunara oak influences Whisky flavor and found out it adds coconut notes to it.
The two biggest Whisky producers in Japan are Nikka and Suntory, major rivals.
Japan is the second biggest producer of Single Malt Whisky in the world.
In recent years, Japanese Whiskies have won several top prizes at the World Whisky Awards and have consistently scored higher than Scotch Whiskies in blind tastings. Talk about a student surpassing the master!
Japanese Single Malts, like Scotch, are double-distilled in pot stills. Grain Whiskies, on the other hand, are distilled in column stills.
