Finish
Gentle, oaky, and wonderfully satisfying bitter touch. Long-lasting finish.

— This is the first smoky whiskey that has my tastebuds dancing because the smokiness fades politely instead of turning into campfire ash. It has such a nice finish and is very well balanced. The vanilla notes play a nice complement.

Terrible chemically burnt smell and flavour which last for a long time
Rasmus,
Dont know if i like it, its weird... But very intresting!
Luis,
True to it’s name... smoky & peaty. A bit overwhelming of both....
Laura,
Very smoky, lots of oak
Antti,
It is an outstanding, intense, Peated Beer Cask Finished Swiss Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a complex & silky life leads to a long & bitter death with notes of oak & char.
Mr,
This surprised me , i don't normally like peated whiskey but this came as part of a tasting kit and it changed my mind .. it's more peated than any previous whiskey I had but it also packed alot more flavour and lasted a long time in the mouth , great nose to , smooth and defo a sipping whiskey
Roy,
Was I drinking brandy and smoking the pipe or drinking an Islay malt in the vineyard? I couldn't decide so I sampled again.. and again, then I couldn't speak (forgetting the cask strength there). I certainly enjoyed it, a great one to 'discuss'.
Michael,
I little to peaty for my liking. Couldn't even finish it
Lawrence,
Heavy peat. Smoke in an old stale smokehouse. Vanilla. Phenols.
Kari,
Very sweet, smoky nose, reminds me of glazed ham. The smoke almost overpowered the other flavors, but there is a bit of char and oak underneath. After I added an ice cube, I was able to detect a bit of vanilla and maybe just a hint of cherry sweetness. Although very interesting, and I will continue to try it to see if I discover other flavors, the smokiness just overwhelms everything else.
Kyle,
Too smoky and peaty for my taste
Stephen,
Look the smoky finish
Brett,
Absolutely the most interesting whisky I have ever tried. I will most certainly be getting a bottle as soon as I can
Trista,
Solid but very smoky for my taste.
Chris,
Really different taste, with strong beer notes, not something I'd drink much but a valuable addition to the collection. The sweetness can come across as cheap and flavoured but it's quelled with a couple of ice cubes.
Tyler,
Pair with Smores and a camp fire.
Michelle,
If you are grillin’ this is your whiskey! This was fun, surprising and flavorful. The smokiness if this peated whiskey was almost overwhelming, yet fully enjoyable. I will be looking for this bottle.
Chris,
Not a fan, the ash and peaty taste was way to much for my tastebuds.
AJ,
Has both the smell, and taste, of that liquid smoke shit you add to bad chili to make it passable as food.
Monica,
This is the first smoky whiskey that has my tastebuds dancing because the smokiness fades politely instead of turning into campfire ash. It has such a nice finish and is very well balanced. The vanilla notes play a nice complement.
guest,
It's not fair to underrate this excellent nectar with single one starred review. So, let's upgrade those stars. I can give it with no reservations 9+ as it is really nicely balanced, smooth and comfortable. Well done job.
John,
I guess from reading other reviews, this goes to show you just how different each of our palates truly are. Also confirms that whisky is a matter of personal preference. I would give this close to a PERFECT score (9.7/10). I absolutely LOVED IT....never tasted anything quite like it. I have seen "Smoked Ham" in the reviews ... however, for me, it was more like "Smoked Salmon" (which oddly enough, I am not even a huge Salmon fan). My guess is that the two would pair amazingly well.
Lee,
Great smoky tasting whiskey. The taste lingers and remains but is very pleasant.
Eric,
The smoke flavor is unbelievable! It’s like drinking a bonfire
Rocco,
Delicious malty goodness with quality smoky flavor
Kevin,
I normally like peaty whiskey but this is terrible
Kevin,
Very distasteful and difficult to get the taste out of your mouth. So thankful I only tried the sample. I took one sip, let it sit, and drank it. It was disgusting. Smells bad and tastes worse.
J.R.,
Smells like a nice pit barbecue!! Love the Smokey taste!!
Michael,
Its easy to see what they are trying to do - but it doesn't work. Beer cask whiskey just isn't my thing. This tastes like the stuff you drink just to get drunk.
Nicki,
Wow! This is probably the most interesting whisky I’ve ever had. Was not expecting the burnt maple bacon flavor. Had this during a whisky tasting and this was the one everyone is still talking about. I’m going to get a bottle to serve at the next tasting just for fun.
Amanda,
Mind blowing! I've never had my tastebuds be more completely speechless! Definitely, a treat sipper. A glass-a-do-ya kind of fun. It's a love it or hate it. I love it simplify for the abstract explosion of tastebud awareness! Tastebuds are 100% at attention! I can see this becoming a whole new level of exploratory expansion to the home bar!
Alon,
A truly interesting whisky. Not like any other I've had. In the right moment, it would really hit the spot. Not for the faint of heart.
Joel,
Like drinking sweaty socks
Alon,
I found it interesting. Smokey yet smooth.
Billie,
Loved it !
Eduardo,
Interesting and different from other peated because of the hint of bitterness and vanilla flavor which play well with a measured smokiness
William,
Started off nicely but the more I had the more it started to taste like I was drinking liquid barbecue chicken, which can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. Not something I would get again.
Steven,
Terrible. Maybe just not my cup of tea but I don’t know how anyone could enjoy this. Tasted like eating campfire ashes... no other notes just straight ash. Even the nose is just campfire. Never again.
Donald,
Fantastic smoky oak flavors and mellow vanilla finish.
Peter,
Wow. Tried this first in the "Oh dear, it's beer" tasting box thinking I'd like the others best and save them for last. Couldn't have been more wrong! The star of the show! This swissky has made it into my top 5
Nick,
Routhless reviews for a great whisky that really begs for more. In my opinion a great drink for a steak diner or a night out with friends. I invite anyone to enjoy a taste of this heavenly whisky
Bryant,
Tasted more like char/firewood smoke to me than anything, and totally overwhelmed the other flavors. As a lover of all things smokey and peated, I was surprised to find I just couldn’t drink it.
Cristopher,
Like drinking liquid beef jerky with a small hint of leather. It was a good strong taste.
Kenneth,
Smokey, spicy, floral nose. Great ruby color. Taste: smoke, spice, dark berry, some oak. Nice balance. I enjoyed this much.
Barco,
Smokey, robust taste. Worth trying again, but a little goes a long way!
Gary,
Like drinking liquid smoke, off putting flavors
Scott,
WOW! smokey...did I say smokey? very unique taste (and aftertaste). Smells tastes and feels like firewood. I wouldnt have a bottle in my bar but its a good 'once in a while' sipper.
Vicky,
Strongly peated but not overpowering; like a fine, rich cigar.
Michael,
Incredible. Smoke. Smoke. Smoke.
Jeremy,
Very unique taste.
Chris,
Love it. So distinctive. Like sherry by a log fire.
Deja,
Smells like candied bacon. Tastes like BBQ.
Scott,
Rich, like Cognac, sweet. Lightly peaty, but not like an Islay scotch. All around really good.
David,
I imagine this is what it would be like to drink barbecue sauce.
Aaron,
Quite the experience on the nose, mouth, & finish! It's like heavy alcohol soaked bacon!!!
Angelica,
Very interesting taste. It smells like smoke and caramel, putting me in the mind of Christmas markets. On the palate, it's quite smokey, and brings to mind barbecued pork. It's not quite 'whiskey' tasting, but kind of is. I'm mesmerized by it, and also would like to wear it as a perfume...
Daniel,
On the nose the smoke is certainly noticable, but not overpowering. There is none of the Islay/Laphroaig "band-aid" smell. I got a fairly strong smoky oak, with some sweet vanilla notes. After a while I could pick up smoked meat, dried fruits, and spices. Really great nose.
The smoke was moderate on the nose, but really hits hard on the palate. First impression in the mouth was of smoke and ash, with a slight malty sweetness. It has a slick, full mouthfeel. Considering this is over 50% ABV, the heat/burn was minimal, really smooth!
But the finish is where this whiskey really shines. It is long and smoky with BBQ, smoked ham, and vanilla tones rounding it out. It just hangs on forever, making you want to go back for more.
Overall pretty fantastic!
Abram,
I thought this was a truly unique experience. I am disappointed to see it is out of stock.
Daniel,
Please I want this whisky~!!! been trying to find a bottle anywhere, can't find it, can you please ship a bottle (or 2) to me?
Jennifer,
Delicious! The smoky flavor really comes through and adds a nice touch.
Cory,
Did not like this one at all. Smelled like barbecue sauce, and just tasted like liquid smoke.
Maurizio,
So extremely interesting.
Rick,
Smokey! Smoother than expected, would buy, but not my favorite peat
William,
Smoke! Delicious meaty smokey amazingness! My first taste of peated whisky and now it m hooked.
