Frérot: The Chosen One

Frérot: The Chosen One

We're Crowdtasting Cognac XO

Out of stock Oooops.
This tasting box isn't on our current list of Home Bar Essentials... but it could be. Add it to your wish list and let us know you want it!
Attention! This is not your average Tasting Box.

Sure, it may look like a typical Flaviar Tasting Box. It’s got the requisite container, the vials filled with delicious liquid gold, and so on and so forth. But what you’re actually holding in your hands will chart the course for our Flaviar-branded spirits. Why’s that? Well, we’re glad you asked.

Because you’re going to help us make some damn good eau de vie. It’s name? Frérot. We’re calling the whole journey “Crowdtasting.” It’s the first time we’ve ever done anything like this, and this is how it’s going to go.

What you’ve got before you are different samples of high-end XO Cognac that we’ve blended for you. Age and regions aren’t important. For now. What is, though, are your five senses. So take your time with these vials:
1. Eyeball the color in your glass.
2. Breathe in the aroma.
3. Let the liquid swirl around your mouth for a few seconds and really get to know what it’s working with.
4. Compare it to the other selections that came in your trusty little box.
5. Repeat.

At this point, you may become so entranced by these sublime specimens of XO Cognac that you completely forget you have a job to do here. But you do. And this part is crucial: take notes. What works? What doesn’t? What are you supremely enjoying about each sample? What could you do without?

Once you’re done tasting and writing down all the glorious details, share your notes and let us know which sample was your favorite of the bunch on this link or right here in the form below.

From there, we’ll take your suggestions and use them to blend the final expression of our precious Frérot—a glorious Cognac that will be bottled and launched as Flaviar’s very own.

A bit about the name: in French, Frérot literally translates to “little brother.” But it’s more typically used as a term of endearment amongst friends, or as a casual way of saying “hey bro—salut frérot.” The more you know.

Anyway, in gratitude for your time and taste buds, not only will you get first dibs on buying a full-size bottle of this special Cognac, but you’ll be credited by name on the website when it launches.

Your 15 minutes of fame starts… now. À votre santé
