Agricole Rum aged in new Limousin oak lets the pure Rum spirit shine through.
Saint James Plantations has been growing sugarcane and making Rums for more than two hundred and fifty years. The Saint James house located in the town of Saint Marie on the northeast side of Martinique where the volcanic soils are fertile and mineral-rich. They produce a wide range of Rums from cocktail mixers through premium sippers in the classic French tradition.
Most Rums re-use casks. There’s nothing wrong with that. Using one or a combination or both ex-Bourbon and ex-Cognac casks is economical and can add extra flavor to a spirit. But Saint James Royal Ambre doesn’t. They actually import French Limousin oak barrels from France to make their barrels. The Rum is aged in those premium casks for up to two years. And it’s an Agricole Rum — meaning it’s made from pure, fresh-pressed cane juice. All this makes Saint James Royal Ambre taste more Rum-like, with an emphasis on the natural essences of the spirit itself.
