Unique Sagamore, for Flaviaristas only.

When Sagamore was established in Charm City in 2017, the mission was clear: craft the world's best Rye Whiskey and put Maryland back on the Whiskey-making map. Now, that sounds like one helluva task, but Sagamore keeps proving they're the distillery that can. Not only did they revive the legendary Maryland-style Whiskey that almost disappeared after the repeal of Prohibition - they've created award-winning expressions that proudly carry MD in their DNA. Local rye and the limestone-filtered water from the Spring House built in 1909 (hence the number on the bottle), which also fuels local race horses. Oh, and the awards? More than a hundred so far, including World's Best Rye Whiskey at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Clearly, bottling a barrel of Sagamore Spirit Rye Whiskey for our Members was a no-brainer, and what a barrel it is. We cherry-picked a unique 7-year-old blend that was bottled at 100 Proof. The juice offers a lush instant-classic profile with caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and clove notes. Only 204 were made, for Members only.

A decade ago there were only 6 brands of Rye Whiskey hailing from Kentucky, nowadays there are more than 50!
George Washington famously loved his Rye Whiskey. In fact, after he served as the first president of the United States, he returned to his farm at Mount Vernon and started a small Rye distillery of his own.
The brand is named after a thoroughbred horse racing farm, Sagamore Farm, 22 miles from the Sagamore distillery.
Rye sparked the first revolution after the American Independence. It was called the Whiskey Rebellion, and it arose when the government tried to tax Whiskey and enforce the taxation on distillers. The lesson here? Don't mess with a Whiskey drinker's dram.
Rye - think of it as Bourbon's edgier cousin. It’s known for what many call a spicy or fruity flavor. Rye (distilled from at least 51% Rye) is not on the sweet side and tends to have a spicier body. That’s why the character of a cocktail made from Rye, instead of Bourbon, is drier.
