Top reviews for Sagamore Spirit Rye Double Oak:

— Surprisingly smooth for a Rye. Lots of toasted and brown sugar notes coming through. Really enjoyed tasting this and will buy a bottle soon. Update: got a bottle and it’s become my absolute favorite Rye. The extra toasted oaky notes add caramel and a complexity that is in perfect balance with the spice I expect from a rye. My bottle is gone and I will immediately be replenishing.

— The nose lofts heavy vanilla wafers and toasted oak followed by marshmallow covered pears dipped in candied hazelnuts. A flash of cardamom makes a quick presence at final nosing. Continuing the tradition, toasted oak is on the forefront of the palate while adding subtleties of various baking spices and toasted sugars on the mid palate. Soft rye spice and a hint of pepper finally arrive on the backend, mingling more fruits covered in honey and toasted coconut shavings. The finish is soft and delicate while keeping oak and vanilla throughout the entire tasting experience. Sagamore Spirits absolutely crushed this release! This also doubles as a fantastic desert whiskey.

— One of my favorite Rye. Great tasting and goes down EZ

SCOTT
SCOTT,
Solid rye. Flavor profile on the money. Caramel, vanilla, and oak very present. A little spice on the end. Buttery mouthfeel. Glad I picked this one with my tasting box.

Andrew
Andrew,
The oak, vanilla and butterscotch are very apparent. A long, complex, and spicy finish that is exceptionally smooth. I highly recommend!

David
David,
Wow, one of my favorite Sagamore Rye’s, and I love them all!

Craig
Craig,
I've previously found Sagamore products a bit too ethyl at the nose and a bit throaty going down. Immature, or at least unready for the top shelf. This one, by contrast, is smooth and rich, rolling with small flavors, all while retaining that high-grain vibe of a rye. I'll buy it again.

Stephen
Stephen,
I really like this stuff. I will ask for this over other double oaked bourbons, like Woodford. The toasted notes of caramel and oak really come out in this whiskey. Incredibly smooth and soft on the palate.
