Bold, unapologetic, and deliciously vibrant—a Whiskey that knows how to make a statement.

Back in the middle of the 19th Century, when the Civil War ended, the Ripy Bros returned from the battlefields to their hometown of Lawrenceburg. They picked the slopes of Wild Turkey Hill as a place for their new distillery. It was closed for a short period during Prohibition, and in 1954, it started operating under the guardianship of Jimmy Russell, the 'Buddha of Bourbon'. Through the ages, Jimmy passed down his wisdom to his prodigious son, Eddie. Like a sponge, Eddie absorbed every tradition, every technique, and every touch of craft from his revered father. With mastery in his grasp and a spark of originality in his heart, Eddie birthed Russell's Reserve—a Bourbon that encapsulates the very essence of their shared fervor.

Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Straight Rye is here to shatter the American single barrel scarcity myth. Each hand-picked barrel of this Kentucky straight rye Whiskey is unleashed at a mighty 104 proof, fearlessly defying the chill-filtering process. It's vibrant color and divine flavor, derived from the majestic No. 4 alligator char barrels, remains untainted. You’re in for a robust rye that strikes a balance between the fiery embrace of peppery heat, the smooth allure of vanilla, and the smoky embrace of tobacco flavors.

Rye sparked the first revolution after the American Independence. It was called the Whiskey Rebellion, and it arose when the government tried to tax Whiskey and enforce the taxation on distillers. The lesson here? Don't mess with a Whiskey drinker's dram.
George Washington famously loved his Rye Whiskey. In fact, after he served as the first president of the United States, he returned to his farm at Mount Vernon and started a small Rye distillery of his own.
Rye - think of it as Bourbon's edgier cousin. It’s known for what many call a spicy or fruity flavor. Rye (distilled from at least 51% Rye) is not on the sweet side and tends to have a spicier body. That’s why the character of a cocktail made from Rye, instead of Bourbon, is drier.
A decade ago there were only 6 brands of Rye Whiskey hailing from Kentucky, nowadays there are more than 50!
