A perfectly balanced noble Malt.

Royal Lochnagar distillery sits in the Highlands near Balmoral Castle at the foot of the Cairngorn mountains. Profiting from the pure waters of the Scarnock springs sits the distillery, their Single Malt has been a favorite of royals around the world after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the distillery in 1848. This was the first-ever royal distillery visit! Their widely beloved bottles are known as delicate Highland malts with notes of light toffee.

Every year, Diageo launches their collection of Special Releases. In 2021, the theme was Legends Untold: untold stories of iconic distilleries. Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old 2021 Special Release is a noble Malt that’s bursting with aromas of orange zest and green apple. The rich and creamy palate is perfectly balanced with barley-sugar and luscious fruit acidity. Adding a drop of water will awaken the flavors of white grapes. The finish is long and bright.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made in Scotland using a pot still distillation process at a single distillery, with malted barley as the only grain ingredient. It must be matured in oak casks in Scotland for at least three years (most Single Malts are matured longer, though).
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
Scotch Whisky is seldom aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation. In addition to that, Whisky is often matured or finished in various wine casks such as Sherry or Port.
Nearby Balmoral Castle was a summer retreat to Queen Victoria, who enjoyed skipping out on her responsibilities for a ride down to the stillhouse. Smart woman.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
Is Scotch always Scottish? What do you think? Yes. The answer is yes.
