Bret
Bret,
I got this in the tasting box and it was a breath of fresh air. That slight taste of apples on the front and a smooth finish.

Mike
Mike,
It's ok. Pretty rough. A little sweet and fruity. The least enjoyable of the tasting box.

Scott
Scott,
Kind of medicinal tasting at first. By the end it had opened up a bit more and I could pick out the sweetness. Not my favorite, but I’m intrigued to try a few more now.

jonathan
jonathan,
a little too sweet for me. i guess it makes sense that it come from apples but too sweet for me.

Kel
Kel,
Sweet, smooth and fruity

John
John,
This is not to my taste at all and the banana taste was a bit much.

Mitchell
Mitchell,
Fruity, interesting and nice flavor.

Miriam
Miriam,
Received this in the Vive la Revolution tasting kit and it was the runt of the barrel, so to speak. Medicinal and rough. By turning apple cider into brandy too much of the apple is lost without the smoothness or richness of a good cognac.

Thomas
Thomas,
Not to my taste. Strong banana and tannic just overpowering.

Joe
Joe,
Nice nose. Starts sweet and fruity switches to notes of vanilla and caramel with a minty/spicy finish. Very interesting aperitif

Charissa

Ryan
Ryan,
Got this in my brandy tasting kit, I can really taste the apple cider but there's some not so pleasant flavors in it as well. I'm not used to brandy so I will chalk some of it up to acquired taste. I could see it growing on me, but the armagnac that came in the kit was much smoother and sweeter.

Michael
Michael,
Fruity, slightly nutty and delicious - I could drink this all day.

Shane
Shane,
Love the unique flavor starts light and slightly sweet into a little spice and warm smooth finish with a subtle lingering fruit. For the 💰 its a winner for me

David
David,
Unfamiliar with calvados; very unique taste. Light, but seems acquired.

Robert
Robert,
I wasn't sure to make of this one for the first few sips. It starts with almost nothing then the fruity sneaks in and about the time you notice, the tannins burst in like the Kool-aide man shouting OHHH YEAAAA!!!

Joshua
Joshua,
Flaviar half sample. Tastes and smells somewhat herbal to me, not a huge fan.

Quinn
Quinn,
Bland flavor, like jet fuel

Blake
Blake,
Nose: honey, tart apples at first, but sweeter notes after tasting Taste: apple chips? almost leathery in both taste and mouthfeel, white pepper Finish: lingering, very nice tannins, incredibly dry Received this in a Cognac tasting box and was not disappointed to learn about and taste something new, but I would not be rushing out to buy this bottle for myself...other brandy would likely come first.

Christopher

Fantastic apple and cinnamon essence and super easy drinking over ice. Muah! Loved it!

Jesse
Jesse,
I’ve never tasted something like this. I get the sense of a wine. Very interesting taste but probably wouldn’t get a full bottle.

Andrew
Andrew,
A strong green olive nose (almost like brine) this actually had a pleasant flavour. Considering I love to sniff as much as I like to sip it isn’t for me.

Roger
Roger,
Pretty smooth. I don’t drink a lot of cognac, but of the two I’ve tried so far I I prefer this one.

Christian
Christian,
For my first tasting set this was very nice. This Calvados was one of the better ones that I’ve tried. Don’t expect a hard cider finish, the flavor is much more complex with a good body to it.

Lee
Lee,
Pretty good, different than what i drink most of the time.

Ron
Ron,
First time having a calvados. Sweet and fruity with a dry finish. Not too bad although I typically go for full and smoky spirits.

Bari
Bari,
Tastes like a banana

Kaelin
Kaelin,
Carmel really shines through for this fruity and sweet double aged reserve.

Brendan
Brendan,
Solid calvados. Fresh and mellow. Takes just like a hard dry cider, a really hard dry cider.

Candice
Candice,
Tastes as young as it is. Reminds me of a nice ice cider

Bernadette
Bernadette,
So thick and smooth, caramel and vanilla!

Amanda
Amanda,
Overall I enjoyed this, but there was one sneaky flavor that didn’t quite work for me, though it was subtle

Emily
Emily,
Delicious, goes great with dessert

Zachary
Zachary,
Disgusting. Biting nose, awful taste. 🤮

Angela
Angela,
Not a good nose and a bit of burn

Antti
Antti,
It is an intense; 'Rare double aged Réserve Calvados that has a crisp & tart birth; while a candied & spicy life leads to a dry & clean death with hints of hazelnut & mint.
