Rock Rose

Rock Rose Gin was launched in 2014 by husband and wife team Martin and Clare Murray, at their distillery in Caithness, Scotland.

Rock Rose is made with 18 botanicals, including five which are locally foraged. The lead botanical – and the Gin’s namesake – is Rhodiola Rosea (aka Rose Root), which is said to have been harvested by Vikings to give them their strength to continue on their long journeys.

Whether or not that’s true, it does add a floral aroma and light rose notes to the Gin. Sea buckthorn and rowan berries add a fruity flavor. Traditional Gin botanicals are added to the mix, and all botanicals are vapor infused in the company’s British-made still, to create a well-rounded Gin that’s definitely worth seeking out.
