Good news: You've got impeccable taste in liquor. The not-as-good news? It means it's currently out of stock. Add this bad boy to your wish list and we'll let you know if it comes our way.
Nature’s child.

In the foothills of Montagne Pelee on the island of Martinique lies JM’s Rum distillery, dating back to the year 1790. The name comes from the initials of Jean-Marie Martin, the founder of the distillery.

Farmers here don’t burn the cane fields after the harvest, they simply proceed to grow bananas or pineapples on it and rotate the cultures with every new crop.

Most Rums are made from molasses, Rhum Agricole howeveris made by distilling sugar cane juice. The distinct character of JM therefore comes from sugar cane that is grown in volcanic soil and damp sea air, resulting in lower sugar content. Additionally, they use fresh spring water to produce their Rum. Coming from Martinique, JM's Rhum Agricole is one of the few with Appellation d’Origine Controlle (AOC), dictating the way sugar cane is grown and processed.

Rhum JM XO is a beautifully expressive Rhum Agricole, blend of at least six years old Rums and aged in re-charred Bourbon barrels.

What does Rhum JM XO taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Rhum JM XO and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

A little bit of etymology; nobody really knows where the word Rum comes from. Most popular suggestions are: Rum (the Romani word for potent), Rumbullion (an uproar), Saccharum (sugar in Latin), Rummer (a Dutch drinking glass).

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Colour
Amber-ish.

Smell / Nose / Aroma
The show opens with toasted nut, lemon & sage, mango and passion fruit aromas dancing around, with a hint of a Bourbon in the air.

Flavour / Taste / Palate
A wonderful copper tone on the palate, then hints of citrus, caramel, cinnamon and nuts round up the story.

Finish
Spicy like white pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. Warm and long finish leaves us with a smile on our face.
