The legend told at the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, goes that famous writer F. Scott Fitzgerald and “King of the Bootleggers” George Remus once crossed paths at the hotel’s famous and eponymous bar. The epitome of new money, George's lavish parties at an equally lavish estate called the Marble Palace are said to have inspired the writer's legendary literary character, Jay Gatsby.

The Remus 15-Year-Old Gatsby Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Ross & Squibb’s new ultra-premium addition to the Great Gatsby lore. A roaringly rich and complex offering that doesn't come off as oak-dry or aggressively tannic given the impressive age. And to make sure, this becomes the next Great Addition to your bar, it's bottled in a lavish art-deco-inspired bottle.

"Remember that iconic poster from World War II showing Rosie the Riveter as a patriotic American woman doing her part for the war effort? Well, hundreds of businesses did their part too, and the Bourbon distillers stepped right up with ‘em.

Distilleries all over Kentucky and Tennessee were re-tooled to distill fuel alcohol and ferment penicillin cultures to treat wounded soldiers."

Pinhook’s high-proof Bourbon won Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, while the Straight Rye Whiskey won Double Gold the following year. In 2021, their Bourbon War Vertical Series 5 Year and the 2021 Flagship Bourbon won a Gold Medal each, with a Double Gold going to their Tiz Rye Time Vertical Series 5 Year. Pinhook is evidently doing something right!

Bourbon Is a ''new barrel Spirit'': One of the legal requirements for Bourbon is that it only be aged in brand new oak charred barrels.
Sure, Kentucky gets all the press when it comes to Bourbon. And with good reason—nearly 95% of it is produced there. But Bourbon can be made anywhere as long as it's within the United States. Just ask states with budding distilleries like Illinois and New York.

Yellowstone Bourbon has had several owners throughout its history, including J.B. Dant, D.H. Taylor, The Glenmore Distillery, United Distillers & Vintners, the David Sherman Company, Heaven Hill, and David Sherman (now known as Luxco).

Bourbons are very high in vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.
