This Pipe Dream truly stands out

In this crazy hectic world there still exists one piece of land where harmony rules: a perfectly balanced ecosystem where every element in existence works in symbiosis with another, and it is right here in the USA. The Redwood Empire (the woods, not the Whiskey) is a scarcely populated stretch of land from San Francisco to Humboldt Bay that is still dominated by nature. At the heart of the woods, there sits Redwood Empire Distillery, a small distillery that has become a part of that harmony, rather than its disruptor. Distilling in a single pass, they are preserving both water and energy, sharing their mash with local farmers for food for livestock, and they are planting a tree for each bottle sold. See, we humans can be part of the natural harmony.

Named after the 14th largest tree on the planet, the Pipe Dream tree rises 367 feet from the ancient forest floor and is more than 1300 years old. This ancient tree has a larger-than-life feel to it, and so does the bottle. With a rich and complex mouthful, this Pipe Dream truly stands out - pun intended. Made from a mashbill of 75% Corn, 21% raw Rye, and 4% Malted Barley, this blend was made from 4 to 12-year-old barrels that were sourced from 4 different states. A very enjoyable bottle that is best drunk neat or on the rocks. Bottled at 90 proof.

Bourbons are very high in vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.
"Remember that iconic poster from World War II showing Rosie the Riveter as a patriotic American woman doing her part for the war effort? Well, hundreds of businesses did their part too, and the Bourbon distillers stepped right up with ‘em.

Distilleries all over Kentucky and Tennessee were re-tooled to distill fuel alcohol and ferment penicillin cultures to treat wounded soldiers."
Bourbon matures quicker than Scotch due to higher temperatures in American warehouses.

Pinhook’s high-proof Bourbon won Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, while the Straight Rye Whiskey won Double Gold the following year. In 2021, their Bourbon War Vertical Series 5 Year and the 2021 Flagship Bourbon won a Gold Medal each, with a Double Gold going to their Tiz Rye Time Vertical Series 5 Year. Pinhook is evidently doing something right!

Bourbon was declared "The Official Spirit of America" by an Act of Congress signed by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
Straight Bourbon must be matured for at least 2 years. If a bottle has no age statement, it’s at least 4 years old.
