RedLeg spiced Rum was launched by Blavod Wines and Spirits in March 2012. This spiced Rum is distilled in the Carribean and bottled in the UK. They infuse it with Jamaican vanilla and ginger, giving it a signature sweet spicyness. Aged in old oak barrels for an uknown range of time.
It's named for the RedLeg Hermit Crab native to the Carribean. Apparently the name also refers to the pale skinned, red legged and Rum nuts Scottish descendants still living on the islands since the 17th Century.
RedLeg has certainly shown its legs in San Francisco, winning Double Gold at the SF spirit awards in 2013.
