A straight-forward and strongly flavorful Rye at barrel proof.

Bardstown Barrel Selections is a small company based in Bardstown, Kentucky — the spiritual and geographic heart of Bourbon country. They know what kinds of flavors they want to get out of a Whiskey, and they go looking for the barrels produced by dozens of large and small distillery shops all across the mid-west. They blend these choice barrels to develop the flavor profiles for their signature brands and impress the crowds with a high-quality and consistent experience across their Whiskeys. Bardstown currently produces the Redemption product range for The Deutsch Family in addition to Temptation Bourbon and Riverboat Rye Whiskey.

Any description of Redemption 10 Year Old Barrel Proof High Rye should start with the simple math of it all. Its mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley distilled at MGP, aged for a full decade in new oak, and delivered at 57.2% ABV without chill-filtration. If you love Rye Whiskey, those stats alone are reason enough to sit up and take notice.

We think that the best part is that this Whiskey has zero fluff and spin. It is a straight-forward Rye Spirit that is striving to be exactly what you are looking for. And that is a tasty recipe indeed.

Bourbon matures quicker than Scotch due to higher temperatures in American warehouses.
Bourbons have very prominent notes of vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.
Straight Bourbon must be matured for at least 2 years. If a bottle has no age statement, it’s at least 4 years old.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.

J.B.'s father, Joseph W. Dant, invented a still made from a poplar log at 16, as he couldn't afford a copper still. Although crude, it worked exceptionally well!
