Jared
Jared,
To be honest, I ordered because of the description. Really interested in the berry notes and PB & J tones. I do not detect that at all. I detect the nuttiness, toffee, and oak. the first feel is smooth and then it warms with the alcohol feel. Decent bourbon, just not what I was hoping for.

Good value bourbon, plus taste and strength. I liked it especially as a mixer.

Dwight
Dwight,
Pretty good for the price. Found it to have an “earthy” flavor. Likely the wheat and nut flavor notes.

Jeremy,
Very sweet wheated bourbon, recommend letting it bloom by melting a little ice in it. Finishes right on the tongue with a flavorful burst that fades quickly.

Jonathan
Jonathan,
Very smooth, light wheat, light honey, flavors are not complex, but instead offer a consistent well-balanced profile. Finish is smooth and honeyed with only a slight trace of spice. The original recipe for Rebel Yell dates back to 1849, when it was invented at what would later become the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Although many famous bourbons were produced at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery (including Pappy Van Winkle), most shared one unique characteristic pioneered by William Laurel Weller himself — instead of rye, the bourbons used wheat as a secondary grain in their mashbill, lending a softer, smoother flavor to the whiskey.

In 1936, nearly a century after the original recipe was developed, former Louisville Mayor Charles F. Farnsley officially registered the “Rebel Yell” brand, distilling the bourbon limited batches for exclusive distribution in the southern United States. This practice lasted all the way into the 1980s, when the Stitzel-Weller Distillery was disbanded and Rebel Yell found its way into the hands of LUXCO Spirited Brands. Now, more than 150 years later, Rebel Yell is bridging the gap between its proud heritage and modern tastes, and is available nationwide for the first time in its history. A new whiskey from Rebel Yell, this bourbon is made with the same wheated mashbill as the rest of the lineup. It’s bottled at 50% ABV, as compared to 40% ABV for regular Rebel Yell bourbon.
