Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Cody,
Potent flavor is right. The smell is mellow with the cinnamon. The taste is strong and spicy with a quick finish. I am not a huge fan or ryes, but I will not recommend this one.

Joe,
Wasn’t a great taste

Edward,
I definitely tasted the tobacco flavor, but it was not the typical rye whiskey I’ve tasted. Tasting with a friend, he said he’d take the worst Irish whiskey over this. It was not the level I was expecting, but it may suit some taste buds. Just not mine.

Zach,
The perfect spice and bite in a drink
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Nicholas,
Smooth, light, hint of cinnamon

Eric,
Overwhelming rye flavor. Spicy notes that thankfully don’t linger. Adding and ice cube certainly smooths this one out.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Patrick,
Some odd flavors for a rye whiskey. Extremely light color. Will not ever be ordering this one.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
John,
Very sharp and spicy. I’m glad the flavor doesn’t linger very long
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Michael,
A lil fruity
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Christopher,
Ok, a little too sharp for a rye. Notes of spice and pepper but not a long after taste
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Bryan,
Nice, mellow Rye blend. Very smooth with hints of tobacco, caramel and spice. Will add this as an every-day favorite. Great for sipping or as base for a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Dennis,
Would not recommend. Spicy and peppery but finish very short.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Gene,
Spicy, fruity, with a hint of mint. Not for the weak of heart but when you get past that front spice it’s delicious...
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Jason,
Not for me. Tastes young and very woody and peppery.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Katie,
Unusual flavors. Didn’t taste any of the “sweet” notes
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
JOSEPH,
Sure is spicy, not for me.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Nancy,
Tobacco taste and smell strong. Not a super fan. Maybe another caliber would be better.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Franklin,
Fruity cinnamon/nutmeg aroma. Sweet and Smokey taste with not the smoothest finish, but overall good experience. Out of all the tastings I would enjoy this on the rocks the most.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Patrick,
The clove and nutmeg slapped me like my ma’ma did when I got my smart mouth. Spicy kicked in like the sting that followed. Umm...no. Doesn’t really mix well with 7-Up either and that’s my favorite mixer. Not the best aftertaste either
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
William,
Wow - hate this. Really funky taste - almost like you can taste the raw grains. Too sweet with weird palette
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Nathan,
Youthful. I was looking forward to trying this offering. I think it has a lot of potential but it needs more time in the barrel.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Mike,
Fine, but not something I’d go looking for.

David,
Not a fan.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Cloyd,
bitter, funky
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Tim,
Strong Fruity nose. Apple? Spicy, mouth-coating hit. Has that triple-distilled Irish whisky flavor. Bit harsh.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Stephen,
A nice bouquet of flavors
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Adam,
Loved it

Jonathan,
Leaves a terrible aftertaste, it tastes like fire. it's got a harsh burn to it, and smells like a burn your rocks of whiskey. Not mature enough to be a sipping whiskey mixed with coke 1:1 results: The mixer definitely milds out the burn, and allows a different flavor profile to emerge. Very cinnamon heavy, enough cinnamon to knock you out cold, and make some french toast for a drunchie snack. Hints of apple, reminds me of a fall day. Will have to try with some warm apple cider, or possibly use in place of redwine for mulled cider. Great idea, weak execution. This is definitely a small caliber whiskey

Alan,
Didn't like it
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Mark,
Smells like shoe leather.

Franklin,
Love the spicy and caramel notes. Great first taste and finish which I enjoyed. After continuing to drink, it left a bad aftertaste which worsened the experience.

Jake,
I’m sure some people love it but it’s too spicy for me! Great tobacco finish but I hate the start! My wife says it’s a combo between your grandpas whisky and a used menthol cigarette from a tray in Vegas! I don’t think it’s that bad, but I’m not a fan.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Jeff,
Loved it. Smooth and apple/cinnamon aftertaste.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Timothy,
Spicy notes, smooth drinking.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Antti,
It is a complex, Texas Rye Whiskey that has an aromatic birth; while a bold life leads to a long & complex death with a hint of bread crust & caramel.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Bradley,
The worst. So gross. Still trying to get the taste off my tongue with a grill brush days later.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Jerome,
This was a good drink with very strong flavors and odors of Nutmeg and Clove and possibly tobacco. I didn't taste the mint. The smell was intriguing, it reminded me of places I've been.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
David,
Like drinking paint thinner
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Chris,
Very similar to gin.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Ken,
Strong flavor, can’t really place it. Not my favorite rye though I’m not really used to taking it outside of an old fashioned.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Graham,
Spicy.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Steven,
Wow super astringent nose, follow up botanical flavors that basically make this a Bombay Sapphire version of Bourbon. Ultimately thought was disgusting because I'm not a gin fan.

Matthew,
OK my first rating done here and the first Rye too I have seriously tried to drink. It was in the tasting sample and took it first as it was the lowest rating. I am surprised I liked it. I smell spice and faint cinnamon. It’s oily and has a slight burn back of the throat, but warm and has a bread feeling on the tongue. Overall very pleasant for me. I wouldn’t buy a bottle, but I would not pass on a dram either if offered.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Roland,
Spicy and cinnamon off the bat. I’m not a big cinnamon fan. Wasn’t bad but I’m not likely to get a whole bottle.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Ken,
Hot and spicy
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Colton,
Very hot and spicy, lot of toffee and cinnamon
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Steve,
I give this an ehhhh rating. Its smooth and easy to drink, but im not loving the flavor, definitely wouldn't purchase a bottle.
Ranger Creek .44 Rye
Oshen,
This was to hot and strong for our likening. Not very drinkable without mixing.

Paul,
This was on the down side of OK. I still haven't finished the tasting that I received. I would not buy a bottle of this. To be fair, I'm not much of a rye drinker, but they sent it, so I tried it and I'm rating it.

Christopher,
On the nose I get Playdough, rye grass, and Redhots candy. Used to 100+ proof stuff so it doesn't give off any burn on the nose. A little sweet caramel scent. To be labeled as a rye (couldn't find the mash bill online) this has no rye spice I'm used to detecting. I can definitely taste the rye grass, but nothing else going on. Finishes dry, no spice. Third favorite in the Texan Spirit tasting box.
