Founded in 2012
Rademon Estate Distillery, based in Crossgar, County Down, Northern Ireland was founded in 2012, by Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong. Though they are best known for their award-winning Shortcross Gin,
they recently decided to step into the Whiskey game.

In the summer of 2015, they sealed the first casks of their small-batch Irish Whiskey, and put them away for maturation. Their first release will be an Irish Malt Whiskey, set to be released in 2018.

They expect to cask 100 barrels within the first year. Every step of production for their new Irish malt Whiskey, from grain to glass, will be performed on site, no third party spirit will be used.

Even the water from the estate’s own well will be used. They plan to mature their Whiskey in a variety of casks, which they hope will imbue the Spirit with new and innovative flavors and aromas.

They plan to expand their existing facilities, including larger pot stills and other equipment to facilitate a capacity of 35,000 liters of pure Alcohol per annum as well as a visitors center.
