Rum and Whisky, mmm...

Oliver Juanillo founded a sugarcane and tobacco plantation in Cuba in the 19th century. Quickly thereafter followed a distillery, which operated successfully until 1959, when Cuba was in the midst of the revolution. The founders fled with their know-how into exile to the Dominican Republic. There they found the conditions to produce high quality Rum to be even better. Puntacana Rum is one of their ranges, which is named after the Punta Cana Beach Resort in the Dominical Republic, the self-proclaimed Heaven on Earth.

Puntacana Tesoro 15YO Malt Whisky Finish is 15 year old Rum that was finished matured in ex-Scotch casks from the Tomatin distillery. This imparted some neat peat on the Rum, making it really de-li-cious.

Flavour Spiral™

About The Flavour Spiral

What does Puntacana Tesoro 15YO Malt Whisky Finish taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Puntacana Tesoro 15YO Malt Whisky Finish and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.
Dog Dogson
Dog Dogson's
Rum is why we measure alcohol proof. To make sure Rum wasn’t watered down, it had to be ‘proven’ by soaking gunpowder with it. If it was ‘overproof’ (higher than 57.15 % vol.), then the gunpowder would ignite, if it wouldn’t, it was ‘underproof’.
