Taking it to a whole new level of smoothness.
In the wild and rowdy stockyards of Kansas City's West Bottoms, known as "The Wettest Block in the World," the thirst for spirits was unquenchable, with men from both sides of the state line flocking to the area in search of a stiff drink. And lucky for them, in 1885, a man named Jacob Rieger arrived from Austria-Hungary to the wild west and established J. Rieger & Co. When Jacob's son Alexander took over the family business in 1900, he transformed it into the largest mail-order whiskey business in the US, just in time for Prohibition to spoil the party. Years passed, and the city's "Spirited" history was almost forgotten, until Ryan Maybee, a local bartender, decided to bring it back to life. He joined forces with Andy Rieger, a descendant of the legendary Jacob Rieger. He rounded up some of the biggest names in the industry, including Dave Pickerell, Steve Olson, Tom Nichol, and Nathan Perry.
J. Rieger & Co. Wave the Wheat Vodka fearlessly flaunts its pure wheat DNA. You probably know that most Vodka distilleries don’t like producing from grain (because, let's face it, hitting that necessary 190 proof isn't exactly budget-friendly) — they typically snatch up a pre-made 190 proof wheat, potato, or corn grain Spirit. So, what happens *after* truly separates the wheat from the chaff. And at J. Rieger & Co., they don’t settle for mediocrity. They distill their Spirit in their faithful copper pot still, banishing every pesky impurity, and pamper it with a carbon filtering session for an extra touch of velvety smoothness. Sure, it means they lose some of it along the way, but what remains is one sleek Spirit that boasts a clean taste and silky smoothness. Full-bodied, rich, and swarming with that gentle wheat sweetness, this soft Vodka makes for the ultimate sidekick for crafting jaw-dropping cocktails.
