The Revived Tennessee Whiskey.

In the 19th century Benjamin Prichard distilled and perfected his bona fide Tennessee Whiskey. He passed away in 1822, and left his operation and utensils to his son Enoch, who unfortunately, had envisioned a life away from stills and casks. To our fortune, 5 generations later, in 1997, the distillery came into the hands of Phil Prichard, who opened the Prichard’s Distillery in Kelso, Tennessee. Because of their long legacy they’re the only producer in Lincoln County that is allowed to label their product as "Tennessee Whiskey" without using the Lincoln County Process.

Their spirits are a recreation of what was distilled and drank over 200 years ago. Not only are they craft and like to distinguish themselves from mass produced spirits, they also uniquely distill Tennessee Whiskey in pot stills.

Prichard’s Rye Whiskey is made from a mash of 70% Rye, 15% Corn and 15% Malted Barley. It’s aged in small, charred American Oak casks for up to 5 years. This true American Spirit offers both the sweet and the sour side of Rye. As Phil Prichard likes to say about his spirits, “If you are proud of it, put your name on it.”

Prichard’s Rye Whiskey was the winner of the BEST OF 2015 Flaviar Award in its respective category!

Brad
Brad,
Found this to be a bit ethery smelling and medicinal flavores
Joe
Joe,
Not a fan. Guess it the tobacco. Leaves itself behind.
Lorenzo
Lorenzo,
Decent Rye, sweet start and mild, smooth finish. Pairs great with a good Cigar, enjoyed it neat.
Micah
Micah,
There is almost a candied peach quality to the nose, defiantly a sipper, not something I think would stand up to much manipulation. Possibly something to play with herbs and citrus.
Steve
Steve,
Very smooth
Jimmy
Jimmy,
It was okay, just maybe not my thing.
Deja
Deja,
Super smooth for a rye.
Jason
Jason,
New to Rye - But this is smooth and pairs well with my cigar.
Jonathan
Jonathan,
The spice of the rye is very well balanced with a toffee sweetness. I'd attribute that to the barley in the mash.
Jon
Jon,
Unexpectedly great
Derek
Derek,
Extremely smooth and subtle...much sweeter than many Ryes and is actually very similar to a Bourbon instead. Love this Rye.
Corey
Corey,
I am fairly new to Rye, but from what I've tasted, this is comparatively nice and smooth. Very subtle flavor, with a warm oaky finish. Enjoyable to say the least.

iamERICan,
