Top reviews for Port Askaig 100° Proof:
— This is my favorite of the three that I tasted today. Rich, smokey, great flavor with just a little bit of heat.
— Easy sipper. Smells smokier than it tastes
— I am not a fan of smoky scotches, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. Sure - it started out smoky, but it wasn’t overpowering and quickly transitioned to a fruity sweetness that was thoroughly enjoyable. I never would have guessed this was 110/114 proof. The rating is probably lower because it’s a very atypical “smoky” scotch, but it rated petty high for me.

Too much proof for a scotch.
If I want to do a shot - I'll find a tequila.
This ones a little rough. Doesn’t appeal to me. However, it softened up a bit on ice and I revised my review. Not bad.
Great combination of Smokey and sweet
Great Smokey/Peat notes/flavors but really rough down the hatch, gotta cut this one a bit to make it through.
Too smoky and overpowering. Finish was palatable but not enough to over come the initial taste.
If I could go negative I would, smells like chemical and leaves the worst taste I've ever experienced from any type of alcohol.
Pretty bland without much depth. Good scotch for those nights when you don’t want your socks blown off.
Started out well but aftertaste is rough
Interesting, but not for beginners. Intense peat and clove flavors and high alcohol make this the outlier of the tasting box. Glad I tried though

Very strong and a little too Smokey for my taste
Strong smoke and peaty notes. I would compare this to the Laphroaig 10.
Not for me. The “peat” or smoke too strong
Very Smokey, peated. Interesting notes, unique
My mom and I tried this together (neat) and the first thing she said was "It tastes like band-aids". Even with a few drops of water, it was still very strong and smokey. Maybe it just wasn't our taste, but I personally wouldn't buy this again. Glad I at least tried it though for future reference.
I'm not experienced enough to know what I disliked about this scotch. I couldn't finish the sample without ginger ale. At first, I loved the smell. The smokiness was great. However, after a taste, the smell even changed for me. Perhaps the peatiness was a bit much for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed other scotches and keep some in my house at all times; this will not be one of them. Of course, my wife enjoyed it and found my gagging amusing.
This may sound harsh but It tasted very chemicallly to me I couldn't get past two sips.
Smokey and overpowering but loved the finish

Incredibly strong and too overpowering for my liking.
I really despise the initial spicy/smokey combo, but it has an amazing finish.
Really smoking a little overpowering
Way too smokey
Smells like a campfire. Immediately sweet followed by spicy smoke with peaty undertones. Almost buttery at the finish. There’s a lot going on. It’s not really my thing because of the peat but others might really enjoy it.
Smokey and sweet nose with a smoked taste. Best part of this scotch is the Smokey/buttery/caramely finish.
Really spicy and slightly bitter. Strong. Peaty and smoky.
Strong high proof leather taste.
Easy sipper. Smells smokier than it tastes
Very smoky. Still tastes good but any more smoke would be too much for me.
Smokey aroma with some spice as well. Taste is potent, strong warmth, touch of smoke, some spices, great overall taste. A dash of water brings down the edge a bit, makes it more drinkable. I like this quite a bit, but I think 1 drink of it would be enough for the evening - too many could spell trouble.
Harsh; and painful on the nose and palette.
Trying (so hard) to be unique and Islay-esk, but lacks any of the pedigree of rounding that age brings or the character that smoke instills.
