guest,
A great bourbon for what it is but not enough for the $55 price tag. Lots of black pepper and menthol from the rye. The age of this bourbon definitely holds it back but not a bad introduction into cask strength bourbon. UPDATE: moved it up from 4 to 6 stars because I’m giving it a try with an ice cube. It brings out the softer side of it. The Pear note came out with one large cube. I’m sure it will do the same with a dash of water. Very interesting bottle. Worth a shot. Straight: black pepper, cinnamon, ethanol. Ice: caramel, PEAR, Water: orange zest, pear, pepper, vanilla.

John
John,
Love the notes of pralines, orange zest, and cocoa. The finish with pear, coconut, and honey is incredible. However, The burn on the back end is a little harsh for me.

Zachariah,
Incredible taste considering the proof. Very sweet and smooth w/ minimal alcohol burn. I plan on buying this again.

Collin
Collin,
Usually you expect a high powered hooch like this to taste like Battery acid, but this bottle had great flavor

Kenneth,
Quite a burn but this juice is bold and beautiful. Sweet on the nose and has quite a punch on the taste buds. I like it alot! It’s different but in a good way.

Darin
Darin,
This was my first purchase from Flaviar and I had no real expectations. It was on my recommended list and it looked interesting so I ordered a bottle. Was a little apprehensive at first opening given the high ABV and so didn’t know what flavor this would really have. But I have to admit - I love this bourbon. The nose is somewhat timid but offers a lot. The taste and finish though are amazing. Has a real creamy robust flavor profile as it rolls over your tongue. Lots to enjoy. Didn’t even notice the alcohol. Had it as part of a tasting with a group of friends and this was the hit of the day - all agreed!

Surprising flavorful despite the high proof. Enjoy it more each time I sample it.

Joyce
Joyce,
Nice bourbon but a little too much on the sweet side for me. Good for a mixed drink, but a trifle disappointing if you like it neat or with a little ice only.

Matt
Matt,
amazing flavor and yet smooth.

Andrew
Andrew,
This is a good well balanced bourbon. Too sweet for my taste but very flavorful. It was good in mixed drinks but did not hold up well as a shot with one cube.
