Top reviews for Peloton de la Muerte Espadin Mezcal:
― This is a very good mezcal for the price. To the nose, it smells like agave, and to me I could smell almost a forest smell. The information says it should smell like grass, but to me it was more like an evergreen forest. On the mouth, there's definitely the agave flavor that you get with tequila, but there's also a moderate smoke to it. There's also a very distinct citrus flavor to it, which will pair nicely with cocktails with lime. I know this may sound crazy, but I also tasted what I imagine juniper bushes would taste like. After spending my entire childhood hunting and hiking in Utah mountains, I know the smell very well. This mezcal tasted like the smell. I definitely plan on buying this again! I should give a disclaimer that I've never had mezcal straight before, so I don't know if there are any tricks to drinking it like adding a few drops of water to a fine Scotch.
