My favorite rye. Without peers. Well rounded flavor with grassy/earthy notes. Would never guess to be 110 proof. Wish it was cheaper but can’t always get what you want.
Excellent bourbon; vanilla nose; spicey, smooth, and warm taste with some oak and vanilla; alcohol warmth finish (pleasant) with some lingering sweetness
This is one of the most flavorful ryes, with minimal burn, I've ever tasted. The deep, rich color is complemented by the smooth texture and satisfying slight heat on the end. A truly delicious beverage.
Delicious. The tasting notes are pretty spot on for me. I’m not usually a fan when I taste mint in my whiskey but this is so well balanced. Really nice spice to sweet ratio and a very long finish
I like this one quite a bit. I bought based on other favorable reviews and reputation as I enjoyed prior Peerless Rye products. I like that they won't compromise their quality and the price of this is within range of similar proof products. Based on flavor profile, surprised this is a ~4 yr, but goes to show you that flavor is only partially directed by time in the barrel. Would buy again. Like that this is not $100+ like the rye, so becomes less of a big luxury to buy. Keep up the good work, and keep the quality up!
One of my new favorites. Super sweet on the noise and delicate but rewarding on the palate. A bit of spice, citrus, toast & yummo! ;-) super excited about this!! Go get it!
How Peerless gets 4 year old bourbon to taste this good is hard to fathom. It's got great flavor, although some people will find it a little "hot". If so, add a touch of water, and you'll find it sweetens up considerably. I prefer it full strength usually to bask in the glory.
Their small batch is a great drink that stands up against much older products, but the real treasures are their single barrels.
Their sweet mash process has resulted in some of the best tasting bourbon and rye I've ever had, and I've tasted a lot of whiskey.
Just thinking about it on here again might make me run by the distillery next weekend and pickup the latest single barrels.
On the nose, deep vanilla and burnt caramels are present with a faint citrus zing to taper off. The palate is immediately filled with toasted oak, mild spice of pepper with a dash of cinnamon and Homemade Cherry Cola from an Old Fashioned Drug Store during the 80’s to round the taste out. On the finish, dashes of butterscotch, vanilla and cherry syrup embark on a journey of nostalgia as if you’ve sampled Peerless Bourbon before... This is truly a unique bourbon. Side note: This drinks well below it’s proof and above it’s age.

Additional notes: Pour an ounce or two over vanilla bean ice cream, it will change your life. Cheers!
Agree with others. Good, but not $130 good....even if it ages longer. Glad I tried the 200ml and would definitely buy more if it were $75 or under. There are many more options that are cheaper that are just as good or better. i.e. Willet 4yr Family Estate Rye
I might be to blame for the experience I had with Peerless, but I recognized the name if not the pedigree at a local soak and ordered in a classic rye cocktail - Old Fashioned. It was cloyingly sweet, so much so that I second guess my bartender and ordered a different dram and easy on the simple after that. Smoothness is absolutely on point but I couldn't appreciate any of the character or complexity, so I guess I'll have to shell out for a bottle!
Excellent. Have tried on one occasion. I'll have to try over a few separate occasions to compare to other Rye whiskies to compare taste with cost, but overall taste is very nice. Not sure it's worth the $120-130 premium cost, but I'll let you know.
I never tried Peerless due to its price point, but decided to take a chance on the Black Friday Select Barrel. It was almost undrinkable. Young, thin, hot and no finish.
