Pearse Lyons Reserve is named after the innovator Pearse Lyons from Lexington Distillery (Alltech). They launched this brand in 2010, and claim that it is the first malt Whiskey produced in Kentucky since 1919.
The Whiskey is twice distilled in copper pot stills, and aged in twice-used barrels that have held both Bourbon and ale.
The flavor profile lends itself to molasses and nutmeg, with plenty of vanilla and lemon cream. It is bottled at 40% ABV without an age statement.
