When it comes to getting your hands on Pappy Van Winkle's (PVW) Family Reserve—often regarded as one of the finest Bourbons in the world—you've got to have some grit and wit. Low production + Insanely high demand = A cult-like following that's not to be messed with.
This bottling of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve is aged for 23 years, which makes it incredibly old for a Bourbon. The most iconic of PVW expressions, it's described as intensely sweet and rich with thick vanilla, spice, cinnamon and dark fruit flavors.
Hey, even bad guys know a good Bourbon. Nine Bourbon-bandits were arrested in 2015 for stealing bottles of Pappy from the distillery.

Bourbon Rule #243: Never mess with the Cult of Pappy.

I had gotten the chance to drink a glass at the Ashton Cigar lounge in Philadelphia and it was everything people said it was, even though I came in expecting to be disappointed. Insanely smooth, with very earthy tones, tobacco and a lingering coffee aftertaste subtle enough to not overpower but leave you desiring for more.
Awesome taste. The 20 year old is slightly better. Priced way too high
So darn good its sick. Sipped this in a hot tub, served neat. WOW!
Excellent bourbon. Can't go 10 because of the price. It iconic and excellent but I think I can get similar for 10% of he price. That being said I will never shy away about bragging that I tried it.
