Gregory
Gregory,
Too much oak in the finish. This seems to be a craft bourbon thing. Pile on the oak and call it smoke. Take a snort of this and then one of Laphroaig or Peat Monster and you'll know the difference. I was disappointed because it doesn't taste as described (to me). On its own merits (without a tasting note to consider), its a strong cinnamon, salty open with a burst of oak. The finish is a bit overbearing. If they could only tone that down a bit I think they'd be on to something.

Patrick
Patrick,
While I am not a Bourbon lover, I was intrigued by the Islay-touch and not disappointed. A nice Bourbon that pairs well with chocolate or toffee ...

Gregory
Gregory,
Recommend this bourbon. Smokey but not overwhelming and smoother than some bourbons I have tried

Thomas
Thomas,
Taste too much like scotch. Couldn’t detect any bourbon notes at all. If you don’t like scotch don’t by this “bourbon.”

Monica

Kevin
Kevin,
Very nice. Peat and sherry notes go very, very well with a bourbon. This is my first bottle of Oppidan, and I am pleased to make their acquaintance.

Topher
Topher,
I love this one. Very nice fruit, vanilla and oak flavor followed by slight peat & smoke.. and finishes with a subtle cocoa flavor.

Imran,
also love.

Taylor
Taylor,
It’s a good experiment, but it seems like some age and a higher proof would suit it very, very well. I’m excited to see where this distillery goes!

Ryan
Ryan,
I have really enjoyed about half this bottle and still can’t quite put my finger on all the flavors. Definitely pleasantly smokey but with a malty grain background and sweeter notes of perhaps chocolate and vanilla. A really nice change of pace whiskey to add to a collection that bridges Scotch and American whisk(e)ys

Todd
Todd,
This was a little too smokey for my taste...
