Kevin,
Compared to some other bourbons I've tried, my experience with OOLA varied greatly depending on how it was prepared: Neat at room-temp was very alcohol-forward and a bit rough, less rough when cooled to around 55 degrees. A few drops of distilled water took off some edge, and the flavor profile really started to present itself when an ice ball was introduced. For me, this bourbon really sang when used for an old fashioned, where the spicy notes could be perfectly balanced with the citrus and floral bitters.
Ray,
Very good bourbon for the price. I'd particularly recommend this for those newly entering into the Bourbon or whiskey arena. Very approachable and not intimidating.
Alex,
Solid
Steven,
Enjoying this bourbon . Very good on the palate. Nice spicy afternotes. Will purchase again.
Jeff,
It is clean and smooth with a great flavor profile.
Barney,
Really liked this, very spicy throughout. Beautiful bottle and branding.
Mitchell,
Good run of the mill whiskey. Might be a good bottle to grab when looking for an average good tasting whiskey.
Josh,
Strong and sweet
Cady,
Very interesting that I smell more spice than I taste. Nice finish.
Brandon,
Really good! Spicy and sweet, balanced and smooth. A perfect sipping bourbon, that’s both sophisticated and approachable on ice, or neat!
Michael,
Being a Washington State guy I was looking forward to this one. It's good. A little bit of heat once it hits, but only enough to remind you you're drinking bourbon. It has some sweet to it as well. Overall it's a decent sipper as I've enjoyed it neat and with a bit of ice and a twist. On the rocks seems to open it up some.
Jennifer,
Love it
John,
This one needs some water to bring out more notes other than spice and ginger. Medium body with notes of cinnamon. Soft lingering finish
Brandon,
I really like this Bourbon. It has a sweet, slightly caramel, note to it; but it’s balanced with the other flavors.
Richard,
I enjoy this Bourbon. Will keep this in my bar list
Dan,
Oola is a very solid bourbon that I have never seen anyone not appreciate it. Should be on every bar.
Joshua,
Its terrible. Tastes like plastic and chemicals. This is not bourbon by the way, so dont expect it to be. Its blended from other distributors with the labels proprietary mash. If you like blended Canadian whiskey, you may like this, but definitely not worth the price paid. Tastes similar, but worse than Crown Royal and Pendleton. Not suitable for drinking neat or even on the rocks. Going to try hiding this swill in Manhattans for unpleasant house guests. If that doesn't work I'll have to drop it at the local frat house.
Mike,
Too much of a bitter bite that overpowers any enjoyment of flavor
Lora,
this one was not for me. too much bite, which overpowered any flavor
Karen,
Super smooth, great for everyday sipping or mixed drinks
Robert,
It is relatively smooth but there is some spice that is very off putting...I can't put my finger on it but I don't like it.
Robert,
After having another sip, I think it is the ginger...I don't like ginger
Frank,
Mixed spices in the nose. You pick up more of that spiciness when tasting, something that the notes describe as olives and chutney - I can kinda see that. Medium finish. I don't think this is one I'd sip on, but would probably be a good choice in an Old Fashioned or Boulevardier.
Landon,
Good everyday. Little light on the end but good flavor.
Joe,
I'm a sipper. I've tried a few things and shared with a couple budding enthusiasts. OOla was the biggest hit yet. I like it slightly refrigerated or with stones. I like the flavor, texture, smooth finish.
Mark,
Worth a try. Not as smooth of a sipper as I prefer for my bourbon, but a good quality drink that is drinkable on the rocks, and would make a solid cocktail.
Julian,
Spicy and full-bodied
Allan,
Initially drank it straight and wasn't super fond of it (but didn't hate it), but mixed an old fashioned and it is one my my favorite bourbons for making them now. Leaves a great complex flavor in your mouth on the back end.
Adam,
Smooth and enjoyable
Okella,
Very smooth bourbon. I was going to mix it with something but it held its own.
Bryant,
smooth
Frank,
This is a very nice bourbon that I think tastes as good as higher priced bourbond.
Heather,
I have a new favorite low priced bourbon whiskey. I love Buffalo Trace but I think I love this even more. Great for sipping even better for Old Fashioned drinks. You cant go wrong with this one.
Greg,
Love it, my new go to. buttery smooth lots of flavors dancing around. Easy to drink neat or on the rocks
Justin,
Was tasty. Has a bite at first, but pretty smooth.
Cassidy,
Well balanced, buttery, and smooth. This was a great find.
Lukasz,
Fairly smooth to drink, do not taste the strength of it. Does not longer for too long. Very solid.
David,
Good clean taste. Not too sweet but not bitter. Very strong but drinkable.
Matthew,
Delicious
Patrick,
I was not a huge fan. I’m not an expert but for me this had a really strong juniper flavor right from the start, it was like a gin flavored bourbon. It was definitely an experience, I’m glad to have tried it, but I don’t thinknId want another bottle.
Lynette,
I love this!!! Smooth ... and delicious I loved it so very much
Joseph,
LOVE this bottle. This is quickly becoming a favorite. I'll have another bottle ordered shortly. I like it a bit on the cool side and as it warms on my palet the flavors really evolve.
Very much approve.
Mark,
It was better than average, and stronger than I expected. Had some complex flavors. I first tried it neat and was surprised by the sour mash sort of kick to that spot of my tongue like when you drink Jack. Was much smoother on the rocks.
David,
Knew nothing about this when I selected it for my quarterly bottle. After the first sip, which was like nothing is ever had before, it continued to grow on me. This is a very economical whiskey, it ranks among the best at its price range.
Charles,
An everyday bourbon. Perfect for mixing cocktails.
Joshua,
Very very smooth. Great taste.
Ernest,
This was a nice change it was smooth and nice will buy this one again
Stephen,
This was delicious. The spicy is first, but does not overwhelm the other flavors. The finish is clean, with no cloying flavors or textures.
Will definitely buy again.
Bob,

James,

This is a smooth very drinkable bourbon. It has a notes of caramel, honey vanilla. It has a very clean finish. The finish has a light oak flavor. Good for sipping.

Delicious from first taste to follow up notes of caramel, vanilla and spice. A new favorite

Blake,
Excellent
Randy,
Smooth great neat our on the rocks score is a 93
Paul,
Green Apple is overpowering
Kaleinani,
I'm very new to this world so I can't supply any jargon or common industry insight - but this was one of the smoothest whiskeys I've ever had, and I quite thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like the taste itself was very mild and I could not efficiently pick out notes of any different flavor profiles, hence the 8/10. (Though perhaps my palette isn't refined enough...?) Overall great bottle!
Tara,
Not our favorite, will use it for old fashion's
Craig,
Very very smooth bourdon, could be my new favorite! Smooth and sweet beginning and a very subtle spice at the bottom end. Truly enjoyable drink.
Ken,
Nothing exceptional. Very drinkable and easy going.
Burke,
It wants to bite at the end but doesn't really follow through. Add ice, and this is super smooth. Can really taste the Carmel and Vanilla flavors with a Honey aftertastes when you breath in.
Ryan,
Smooth and good sweet flavors
Steven,
I like this one. Spicy but smooth. I like the smell of vanilla and caramel before drinking
Zachary,
Sweet. Smooth. Very tasty
JOSH,
Delicious and smooth. A very good sipping bourbon.
Gary,
Good for sipping over ice with bold cinnamon and spice flavors, add a splash of seltzer to being out slightly sweet vanilla and ginger, a good refreshing drink at the end of a long work day
Bruce,
Loved this bourbon. Excellent sipping smoothness without too much buttery flavor. Just right. Excellent aftertaste.
Christian,
Very smooth and mellow.
Brad,
Never was a bourbon drinker. After having this, I am now.
Brian,
Great sipper. Carmel, vanilla, honey. Also great in my peach old fashion drink.
Laurie,
My Husband loves this bourbon
Aaron,
I’m just a beginner at this but this style of bourbon I truly enjoy. You can smell and taste the caramel, vanilla, butterscotch flavors.
Paul,
Tastes young and thin.
David,
Has a lot of spice to it, like christmas spices.
Brent,
Solid bourbon. I like what these guys are doing in Seattle. Their other offerings are even better, but worth the try.
Marques,
I like these guys a lot. The staff is great, their experiments are awesome... but I really don't like this whiskey. It just tastes too young! Which is crazy, cause it's 5 years old. It just has a very... sour green flavor. Almost a gin like sourness. It certainly has the more common bourbon flavors, vanilla, caramel, oak, a little bit of cherry. But those flavors are buried under the sourness. I've downed half a bottle of it too, so I've given it plenty of chances, it wasn't just something I ate before I tried it. Oddly enough the sourness is almost completely gone in the cask strength version, just a wisp on the back end.
Troy,
Wonderfully smooth bourbon. Will buy again
matthew,
Real caramel taste
David,
Love it!
Todd,
It’s not Pappy Van Winkle, I’ve had once at Cask & Trotters, or Bookers but some of the best damn bourbon I’ve had! Highly recommend.
John,
Not my favorite, I'm no expert but it seems like it was bottled to soon.
Emmy,
It's a solid bourbon. Not on par with the best I've ever had but definitely far from the worst. Definitely worth a try.
Zachary,
This is a really interesting young bourbon. When first opened it smells distinctly of straight alcohol - that's the youth talking. But if you pour it and let it rest for a time, more floral and inviting notes are clearly present.
Flavor wise there are clear notes of vanilla, caramel, and a subtle maple - combined it reminded me distinctly of raw pie dough. I actually really enjoyed it, although it's sweet enough that I think I'll drink it primarily as a dessert.
Overall, this is a tasty bourbon that's really exceptional given its age. I'm excited to see what else this distillery will produce in the years to come.
MAX,
Very sweet! Smooth! Very good!
Justin,
Underwhelming with an overly strong alcohol smell. Higher proofs like old forester 1920 do a great job of delivering a great nose and taste without that all consuming alcohol smell. This bourbon does not. It remains on my shelf and likely won’t be consumed anytime soon.
James,
This Bourbon is just ok. The most redeeming quality is a sort of pecan palate, nice for the holidays. BUT, the ethanol is far too forward, I can't get much of an aroma outta it and the spice is not as pleasurable as I'd like. I will give it a go in some cocktails.
Cristina,
Wierd after taste. Do not approve.
Francisco,
Great daily drinker. Great flavors and the wheat does shine through, for those wheated bourbon lovers.
Dave,
Very interesting drink not too sweet
Dave,
Very interesting
Christopher,
Nose: For a highly ranked bourbon, there's not much there. Grapes, almost brandy like in smell. After opening up a while, there are undertones of salted caramel. Some peanut shells.
Palate: This explodes on the mouth. A really great mouthful. Spice on the attack. Caramel. Wonderful butterscotch. Oak, slightly tannic. Prunes.
Finish: Lingering spice. A bit of pleasant heat. Nice.
8/10. If there were a stronger nose, easily a 9.
Bret,
After reading the reviews, I thought I would get more spice out of it. Very smooth, sweet caramel and vanilla. That just seemed to be it for me. The finish was good and long, just sweet though. I like a little more spice on the finish. Good bourbon from my home state!
Evan,
Bronze color with initial tones of butterscotch and caramel. Very good bourbon, worth the money.
Gordon,
It’s good and easy to drink. The spice hits early but then kind of dies off
Justin,
Top Notch Bourbon
Rob,
One of my better fines. I'm glad I bought this local bottle. It comes out very smooth & sweet when you slipping. Very easy to drink. I'll be getting another bottle very soon.
Lee,
This bottle is very special. Smooth but substantial. Really like the flavor profile. Beautiful neat.
Jernique,
Extreeemeeellyy good!! I am really enjoying it. Had to run around and find it because it was delivered to the wrong person. Glad I found it because it is really good. Smokey and a little peppery at the front end. Then it smooths out and a hint of sweet bourbon and sweet caramel kicks in. Very complex. At the end comes the grain and earthiness. Gotta say I love it! I will get another bottle soon.
HOPE,
I absolutely loved this bourbon! It was extra smooth, with a slightly sweet finish which I loved. Great with Ginger Ale too!
Shawn,
This is my favorite daily drinker right now. So balanced and delicious, it is tough to put this one down!
