Famous American Country-music singer Willie Nelson recorded a Johnny Bush song called Whiskey River in 1978, and had a solid hit. It become one of his signature tunes, played at every concert.
Heaven Hill Distillery released a Whiskey in honor of this song. They even attached a branded guitar pick to the neck of the bottle with a red bandanna-like ribbon strip.
Old Whiskey River was aligned with Willie Nelson’s ethic of supporting local, family farms. They get all of the grains for this product from small farms within 100 miles of the distillery. It is a small batch, six years old and bottled at a respectable 43% ABV.
