You know what triple distillation gets you? A smooth-talking dram that might almost be mistaken for an Irish Whiskey. Almost. The only Lowland distillery to triple distill its Whisky, Auchentoshan boasts some killer drams—and this one hails from its 90s archive line.

Part of Hunter Laing's Old & Rare range, this Auchentoshan really is something else. Bottled at 58.4% ABV and and clocking in at 24 years of age, only 216 bottles that exist of this stunner. Get on it, quick.

Categories of Scotch Whisky: Single malt, Blended malt (formerly called Vatted malt), blended, single grain and blended grain Scotch.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
Auchentoshan uses three-part distillation process that is pretty rare in the world of Scotch Whiskies. Also, each still is a little different, so they have three stills -- an odd number of stills is rare too.
There is some debate about the origin date for Auchentoshan. the various dates include 1800,1817, and 1823. But most sources use the 1823 date, so we rely on that.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
