Is this the most explosive Oban yet?

Oban Distillery is found beneath a steep cliff on the West Coast of Scotland in a port town of the same name. In fact, the town was built around the distillery, highlighting the importance of Scotch production to the economy of the day (and probably these days as well!). The distillery itself was built in 1793, making it one of the oldest in Scotland. The malt produced here is the embodiment of the salty coastal surrounds of Oban Distillery itself.

Distilled in 2007, Oban Distillers Edition 2021  is double-aged in ex-bodega Montilla Fino cask wood. It’s part of their 2021 Distillers Edition range that has won several Gold medals at prestigious competitions over the years and it’s only available in limited quantities. This might just be the most explosive Oban yet with rich fruity and maritime flavors that complement the fresh and sweet aromas on the outstanding and pungent nose.

First-class Whiskies are taxed not only by the state but also by the angels. This refers to the 4% of Whisky that evaporates from the barrels every year, a phenomenon known as the angel’s share.
Blended Whiskies are the result of years of craftsmanship and dedication. A master blender does not simply wake up one day with a profound ability to create a cohesive and enjoyable liquid. From nosing the liquid to working out quantities of each different grain and malt to go into the blend, a master blender can take years, if not decades, to train.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
Scotland is home to more than 20 million casks of maturing Whisky. That’s four for every person living there. Nuts!
Think Whisky never helped us learn more about the world? Think again! A cave discovered during Oban's 18th century refurbishment was found to contain human remains from the Mesolithic era.
