NY DISTILLING CO.

Distillery
Founded in 2011
The NY Distilling Co. is situated in a 5,000 square foot warehouse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. One of many distilleries in the borough, NY Distilling Co. is the only one with a licensed bar attached to it. Launched by cocktail historian Allan Katz and the founder of the Brooklyn Brewery Tom Potter, the NY Distilling Co. was set up with a vision of creating a great Gin.

They wanted to create something different which wasn’t on the market. During their research and development process, however, the founders decided there were two different recipes they wanted to take forward; Dorothy Parker American Gin and Perry’s Tot Navy Strength.

Today, the distillery’s Spirits lineup also includes a New Netherland Gin (a Gin made from an American Rye Whiskey base), a Ragtime Rye Whiskey, and Rock & Rye (a Rye Whiskey with the added rock candy sugar, spices, and fruit).

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Man 1: I like making things. I love making stuff and making delicious is Alcohol is like the most fun thing you can do.

Man 2: The perfect Cocktail, I've always thought that sort of the place and time is a big part of it, who you're with.

Man 1: Especially the time part, and the next Cocktail is usually the best one.

Man 2: I think when people say, "Oh, well, why waste good Spirits in a Cocktail?" They're not really thinking about a Cocktail, they're thinking about like, Jack and Coke.

Man 1: I feel like... I love going to a bar. You get to have a Cocktail that you can't make at home.

Man 2: Well that's why you go to a bar. Why would you go to an Italian restaurant and just get spaghetti with tomato sauce? You can make that at home.

Man 3: That's awesome. Man 1: Making Spirits for Cocktails and the attitude of making sure the things we make work well in drinks, I feel like, all right. If that's what I'm doing with my life, good enough.

Man 2: And that's right, hang my hat on that.

Man 1: Yeah.

Man 2: Hey, way to down that.
