Top reviews for Novo Fogo Barrel Aged Cachaça:

— Excellent. On the nose, mostly ripe banana with good smoothness from aging. On the palate, it's smooth and slightly fruity but completely dry. Compared to a rhum agricole (also made from sugarcane juice), this cachaca is smoother and fruitier, without the grassy overtones present in for example Clement VSOP (my favorite rhum agricole). Both are excellent in traditional Daiquiris (Spirit+lime+sweetener shaken with ice).

— Solid Cachacha a goto too bad we can't get Brazilian prices which is a 3rd of this perfect for caipirinhas for the other comments comparing it to whiskey different flavor profile altogether.

— A really solid clean cachaca

Daniel
Daniel,
Reminded me very much of a rum. I liked it though.

Nick,
Sounds better than it is. It's very strong, has a barrel-aged taste to it, not dissimilar to whiskey, but not as smooth as whiskey. Further, you can't really drink it straight, it's overpowering. Instead, try it with a mixed drink.
