Northern Light Canadian Whisky is managed by Barton Brands for the Sazerac Company. It is a fairly standard rye-barley-corn formulation for Canadian Whisky, and each grain is distilled separately and then combined for aging.

Like all Canadian Whiskies, Northern Light is aged a minimum of three years in oak. But Northern Light ages the married spirit in barrels of different char levels, to add complexity. What makes this especially unique is that Northern Light is an inexpensive, value-priced brand.

The flavor profile is just what you might expect with plenty of cinnamon spice, honey, and a definite alcohol burn and aroma. Vanilla and nutmeg are there as well — perhaps emphasized by the various barrel chars.
