The NB Distillery started life in the kitchen of co-founders Steve and Vivienne Muir. The couple were both had day jobs as lawyers, and began experimenting with making Gin in 2011.
Their makeshift still allowed them to test hundreds of recipes before settling on something they felt had the makings of NB Gin’s recipe. From there, they were granted a license and swapped their pressure cooker for a small desktop glass still to finalize their recipe.
The Muirs then commissioned a custom-built still, made to their Gin’s exact specifications. They use this still today, and create batches of up to 100 liters at a time.
NB Distillery will be opening its doors to the public for the first time in late 2017. This new site is a stone’s throw from the current location, and will offer distillery tours and sampling.
