It is a very good, intense, Single Malt Spanish Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a juicy life adds notes of butter, nuts, hints of cherry, dates, allspice, leather & clove; that lead to a long & rich death with more Sherry notes.
Color is a copper color. Nose starts with malt, a buttery note, an herb/earthy note, and very faint fruit. First sip is intense: sherry, herb/spiciness, slight nuttiness, and some fruit. Consistency is buttery, perfect for the fuller flavor profile. Later notes of butter in the palate only improve this illusion. Finish is strong, with extended sherry and spice notes. Overall, very impressive. The heavy sherry influence and higher proof really pay dividends.
Totally unique flavor, with a heavy butter/almost creamy texture and flavor. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this one is a must try if you want something different.
tastes of a room with leather bound books on a mahogany shelf next to a big leather chair and a smoldering fire and maybe half a doobie in a marble ashtray
Wonderful. Butterscotch on the nose with a nutty Sherry flavor, a background of dried fruit, and a long smooth finish. Highly enjoyable if you like Sherry finished whiskies.
Pretty run of the mill to me. The nose doesn't really have anything stand out. Same on the taste, with a little buttered pecan. The faintest of sherry beneath, but it is extremely subtle. A good tasting whisky overall, just nothing spectacular or unique.
A favorite from the Advent Calender. Unique. Aromas of cocoa and dill, dates and molasses. Medium oily mouth feel. Slight alcohol punch. More dates and fruit on the taste. So glad I tried this.
Amazing. Incredible. Nose: Almond butter, Dates, Old clean Leather. Taste: Not a bite--more of a nibble. Strong sherry nose and flavor. Let it sit for a few minutes, and the sherry bomb explodes on the nose. Leather on the palate. Long dry finish.
Distinctive. It reminds me of pecan pie with that sweet spiced buttery flavor. Not as smooth as some others I have tried. Smells very nutty like an almond or pecan cookie.
It is an off-dry, 'Cask Strength Brandy that has an aromatic birth; while a dry & complex life leads to a long & tangy death with notes of nuts, tea, seaweed & apricot. (not a fan of Sherry)
